Jizzakh is a beautiful oasis, distinguished by its charming nature, unique climate, unique fauna and flora. Jizzakh State Pedagogical University is 50 years old. If we compare it to the life of a person, it means that he is at a young age full of energy and enthusiasm. The university was founded in 1974. It was given the name Abdulla Qadiri in 1989. The institute, which started with 5 directions and 6 departments in 2 faculties and 50 professor-teacher teams and 425 students, has become a large scientific center with 13 faculties and 41 departments. According to the decision PD-289 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev dated on 21.06.2022, Jizzakh State Pedagogical Institute named after A.Qadiri was granted the status of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University. At the moment, the Rector of the University is Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences. prof. M.A. Yuldashev.

Required Documents for Admission
International applicants must submit the following documents:

Visa Acquisition
Citizens of countries requiring a visa to enter Uzbekistan should contact the Uzbek embassy or consulate in their respective countries.
Initially, applicants must complete the official visa application form available at https://visa.mfa.uz/.
The signed application form should be submitted to the International Cooperation Department at JSPU, which will then forward the necessary documents to the relevant authorities for telex visa processing.

Registration Upon Arrival
Upon arrival in Uzbekistan, international students must register with the immigration office within 72 hours. Additionally, a customs declaration is required.

International partnerships
International Cooperation Relations of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University in 2026
During the first months of 2026, Jizzakh State Pedagogical University organized a number of meetings, seminar-trainings, conferences and negotiations aimed at expanding cooperation with foreign higher education institutions, international organizations and foundations, developing joint educational programs, establishing academic exchange, and implementing scientific and practical projects.
On January 4 of the current year, a meeting was held at the university with representatives of the “Synergy” organization of the Russian Federation. During the negotiations, the parties discussed the development of cooperation in the fields of medicine, Russian language and literature, preschool education, pedagogy and psychology, inclusive education, tourism and management, the development of joint educational programs, the introduction of distance learning, and professional development for teachers. At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop a roadmap for cooperation.
On January 27–29, 10 students led by Professor Eun Ha Won of Kyungwoon University, South Korea, visited Jizzakh State Pedagogical University. The guests participated in the international seminar-training “Global Citizenship Workshop,” organized in cooperation with JSPU. This event served to develop students’ skills in global citizenship, intercultural communication and international cooperation.
On February 16, a delegation headed by Walid Fouque visited the university accompanied by representatives of the Jizzakh regional administration. During the meeting, it was noted that, along with English, German, Korean and Chinese, French is also taught at the Faculty of Philology of JSPU. Mr. Walid Fouque paid special attention to the development of French language education, the expansion of academic cooperation, and the provision of educational and literary books in French to the university.
On February 21–23, professors from the University of Georgia, USA, and representatives of GATESOL visited Jizzakh State Pedagogical University. During the event, the parties discussed the development of English language education, the expansion of international cooperation, and the initiative to regularly organize a large international conference uniting English language teachers across Central Asia. In addition, the formation of joint research groups, participation in international grant projects, integration of artificial intelligence into language education, modernization of curricula, and improvement of the CEFR-based assessment system were identified as priority areas.
On April 10, a delegation headed by the Director of the Korean Education Center of South Korea visited JSPU. During the meeting, the parties considered issues of establishing cooperation with KOICA, organizing classes, seminars and master classes with the participation of Korean specialists in the fields of Korean language, IT, pedagogy and innovative education.
On April 21, representatives of a partner higher education institution from Türkiye — Professor and Vice-Rector Dr. Idris Nebi Uysal and Coordinator of the International Relations Department Dr. Gulina Yusupova — visited JSPU. During the visit, the parties discussed the development of cooperation between the two higher education institutions, the introduction of Turkish language teaching, the establishment of a Turkish Language and Culture Center, faculty exchange, academic mobility, and the implementation of joint educational programs.
On April 29–30, the XVI International FLTAL Conference was organized at Jizzakh State Pedagogical University. Representatives of prestigious higher education institutions from the USA, the United Kingdom, Japan and other foreign countries took part in the conference. The event focused on the development of language education, applied linguistics, foreign language teaching methodology, and international scientific cooperation.
On May 13, representatives of Ordu University, Türkiye, visited JSPU. During the meeting, the parties discussed areas of cooperation within academic exchange, joint educational programs, scientific projects, Erasmus+ and other international grants. The parties reached an agreement on further developing mutual cooperation and expanding joint initiatives.
In May, an official delegation of Jizzakh region paid a working visit to the People’s Republic of China. The delegation included Maksudjan Yuldashev, Rector of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University. During the visit, the parties discussed the expansion of investment cooperation, implementation of joint projects and introduction of modern practices. On May 21, within the framework of the III Uzbekistan–China Interregional Cooperation Forum held in Xi’an, a trilateral cooperation agreement was signed between JSPU, Xi’an International Studies University and Beijing Financial Street Education Investment.
In May 2026, the next training module entitled “Future-Ready Curriculum: A Global Transformative Approach” was organized for professors and teachers of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University participating in professional development courses in Malaysia. Within this module, issues related to the development of modern curricula, organization of the educational process based on global transformative approaches, and formation of competencies in accordance with international educational standards were discussed.
On June 2, Jizzakh State Pedagogical University hosted a meeting with a delegation from Webster University in Tashkent headed by its Rector, Dr. Jean Paul van Marissing. During the dialogue, the parties discussed expanding the existing cooperation between the two higher education institutions, developing joint educational programs, and further strengthening academic relations.
Overall, the international meetings and events held in the first months of 2026 served to further strengthen JSPU’s relations with foreign partners, improve the quality of education, expand academic mobility opportunities, and develop joint programs and international grant project

Faculty of Philology – a leading academic center training highly qualified specialists
The Faculty of Philology at Jizzakh State Pedagogical University is one of the leading divisions training highly qualified professionals in linguistics, literary studies, and translation. Established in the 2025/2026 academic year through the merger of the Uzbek Language and Literature, Foreign Languages, and Russian Language and Literature faculties, it has introduced innovative approaches in the field of language and intercultural communication.
Students thoroughly study the linguistic systems of Uzbek, Russian, and English, master modern translation technologies, linguoculturology, speech culture, and methods of literary analysis.
Graduates have opportunities to work in national and international educational institutions, media organizations, translation centers, publishing houses, and research institutes. The teaching staff consists of experienced philologists, internationally recognized professors, and young researchers.
The learning process at the Faculty is based on advanced methodologies, with modern linguistic laboratories, multimedia centers, and e-learning platforms available to students. Each year, students successfully participate in international Olympiads, conferences, and cultural events, showcasing their talent and creativity.

The faculty started working in 1974 as a department of the faculty of Uzbek language and literature. In 1976, it started working as a separate "Elementary Education" faculty. In total, more than 40 professors and teachers work in the faculty, 20 professors and teachers with scientific degrees, 3 of them are doctors of science, 17 are candidates of science and doctors of philosophy (PhD). Currently, 1,000 undergraduates and 15 graduate students are studying at the faculty.

The faculty was established in 1974. A total of 45 professors work at the faculty. The faculty of pedagogy and psychology was established by the order of the rector of the institute No. 429-U dated June 29, 2020. A total of 66 professors work at the faculty. 46 of them (69.6%) are women. According to the academic level, the teachers consist of 1 doctor of science, 8 candidate of science associate professor, 3 PhD doctor of philosophy, 19 senior teachers, 23 teachers, 12 intern teachers. In the last 2 years, 6 of the teachers have obtained the scientific degree of doctor of science and candidate of science. Today, 1053 students are educated at the faculty. 774 of them are girls, 279 are boys. 174 graduate students study.
Faculty of Medicine
A faculty that trains highly qualified specialists in medicine, healthcare, and rehabilitation fields.
The Faculty of Medicine is a modern scientific and educational center that prepares highly skilled medical professionals serving to protect public health. Graduates work effectively as doctors, nurses, medical educators, and specialists in health improvement institutions across various medical establishments in the country.
Students at the faculty gain deep theoretical and practical knowledge in human anatomy and physiology, internal diseases, general and specialized medicine, prevention, sanitation and hygiene, first aid, and modern medical technologies.
Graduates can continue their careers in polyclinics, hospitals, health and rehabilitation centers, as well as in various branches of the healthcare system. They also have the opportunity to pursue further education in master's programs, clinical residency, or research institutes.
Education at the faculty is conducted in specialties such as “General Medicine,” “Nursing,” “Medical Pedagogy,” and “Medical Psychological Service.” Students receive training in anatomy laboratories, modern simulation equipment, and under the guidance of qualified medical professionals.
Faculty History
Establishment
The scientific and methodological foundations of the Faculty of Medicine were first laid in 1979 at the Department of Human Life Safety at Jizzakh State Pedagogical University. The department was led by Professor Murod Rasulov, and medical knowledge began to take shape at the university on this basis. In 1983, the Department of Fundamentals of Medical Knowledge was officially established, with Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Sa’dulla Ibodov as its first head.
In 1997, based on the recommendation of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, the Ibn Sina Health Improvement Center was established at the university. The first head of the center was Doctor Mahmud Kamolov, who held the position until 2009.
Development Stages
The Faculty of Medicine was officially established on December 14, 2020, by the order No. 654 of the Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education. The faculty and the Department of General Professional Disciplines were formed accordingly.
Starting from the 2021–2022 academic year, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Dilfuza Imamova was appointed as dean of the faculty. The Department of General Professional Disciplines was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Nurali Qurbonov. During this period, the first two specialties — Therapeutic Care and Pediatrics — were opened. In 2021, 66 students were admitted in these specialties.
Current Activity
Currently, 245 students study at the faculty: 140 in Therapeutic Care, 105 in Pediatrics. The faculty employs 65 professors and instructors, including highly qualified doctors, candidates of sciences, and PhD holders.
