Under the educational direction 60910200 — General Medicine, bachelor's degree training is conducted in full-time form. The standard duration of the bachelor's programme in full-time study is 6 years.

1.2.4. Professional Tasks:

In accordance with the 6th qualification level of the National Qualifications Framework and the spheres, objects and types of professional activity of a bachelor in the direction 60910200 — General Medicine, a bachelor's graduate must be capable of effectively performing the following professional tasks:

In medical and preventive activity:

independently develop, coordinate and conduct a complex of health improvement, sanitary-hygienic and preventive measures;

form healthy lifestyle skills among the population and patients, increase their physical and medical activity;

study and implement advanced preventive measures in the field of medical prevention;

master and assess independent practical activity as a highly qualified specialist with a full range of necessary skills in organising preventive measures in medical prevention.

In diagnostic and therapeutic activity:

receive patients at the clinic and at home, interpret data from anamnesis and clinical examination, establish preliminary and differential diagnosis, and develop a patient management plan using the results of objective examination;

carry out prevention, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases in children and adults at the family polyclinic in accordance with the list of guaranteed volumes of medical care funded from the state budget, based on available capabilities and conditions;

provide primary medical care prior to hospitalisation in life-threatening situations;

assess patients' disease risk factors, provide recommendations on health protection and promotion, maintaining a healthy lifestyle in physical and psychological aspects, rational and healthy nutrition, family planning; counsel pregnant women on HIV infection, and pregnant women, women of fertile age and those who have given birth on breastfeeding, family planning and reproductive health;

provide medical care before patients are hospitalised, call specialist physicians or refer patients to appropriate treatment and preventive institutions;

carry out prevention of unwanted pregnancy, antenatal monitoring of pregnant women, postnatal examinations of women who have given birth;

recommend screening examinations and scheduled vaccination according to clinical protocols, monitor preventive measures;

determine medical indications for introducing restrictive measures (medical suspension);

generate emergency notification upon detection of infectious disease, foodborne poisoning, or acute occupational poisoning;

participate together with specialist physicians and other professional groups (social worker, psychologist, etc.) and nurses in providing long-term medical care to patients with chronic non-communicable diseases;

monitor patients with chronic diseases at their permanent or temporary place of residence and/or at the institution, conduct tertiary prevention measures;

provide emergency and urgent medical care to patients who have applied in emergency and urgent situations and to the attached population, notify emergency medical services and/or accompany in the ambulance;

prescribe medical rehabilitation procedures for the population (patients) (physiotherapy procedures, therapeutic exercises, etc.);

prescribe and monitor therapeutic procedures for the population (patients) in day hospital conditions in accordance with clinical protocols, and maintain day hospital medical documentation;

provide palliative medical care to patients with chronic, incurable, progressive diseases;

provide medical care at the permanent or temporary place of residence of the population (patients) with limited mobility, intellectual or physical disabilities, conduct monitoring measures at foci of infectious diseases;

conduct temporary disability examination in the established manner and timely refer to the medical and social expert commission for establishing disability in case of persistent incapacity;

ensure timely and correct recording of all activity processes in the "Electronic Healthcare" information system;

develop health improvement programmes;

refer the population (patients) to laboratory and instrumental examinations;

work with medical documentation, form and present reports on their activities;

assess the effectiveness and safety of medical and non-medical treatment methods;

continuously improve qualifications in the field of professional activity;

contribute to the development, dissemination and implementation of new knowledge and methods;

critically assess specialised medical information and its sources, use them in decision-making;

ensure patient safety during all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, apply principles of efficiency, appropriateness and economy;

organise and manage the medical team's activities;

organise and analyse the medical team's work, assess the population's health status, compile the "Health Profile" of the attached territory and attract public organisations and partners to achieve its positive changes;

submit proposals to the head of the respective primary healthcare institution on improving the efficiency of medical team members' activities and rewarding medical workers who have achieved positive results;

organise comprehensive sanitary and anti-epidemic measures in the territory where the attached population resides, timely report on detected infectious diseases, poisonings, injuries and emergency situations;

conduct the activities of the "Mother's School", teaching young mothers breastfeeding and child nutrition, proper care, monitoring growth and development, hardening and disease prevention;

provide recommendations to parents and caregivers on rational nutrition for women and children, developing attachment between parents and children, creating a safe home environment for the child, preventing injuries and accidents, delays in motor and speech development in children and other issues;

promote a healthy lifestyle among the population to prevent non-communicable diseases, ensure compliance with personal hygiene rules, proper organisation of the daily routine, rational nutrition and physical activity, form knowledge and skills in the field of disease prevention;

ensure patient rights are not violated when providing primary medical and sanitary care to the population, maintain medical confidentiality, maintain a sincere attitude towards colleagues;
