About the university

Bukhara Innovative Education and Medical University (formerly Bukhara Innovative Medical Institute) has been operating since 2022 on the basis of license number №222841 (registry number L-4409219) for non-governmental educational services issued on July 28, 2022, by the State Inspectorate for Supervision of Quality in Education under the Cabinet of Ministers (currently the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan).

Bukhara Innovative Education and Medical University is ranked in the TOP-10 among 20 higher education organizations specialized in medicine in Uzbekistan and is an official medical higher education institution specializing in training high-level personnel.

The university is pleased to offer programs in 6 bachelor's, 11 master's, and 28 residency (ordinatura) specializations, where applicants have the opportunity to study full-time. There are 4 departments at Bukhara Innovative Education and Medical University, where 60 scientifically potential associate professors and professors, as well as more than 120 teachers, conduct their activities.

The university's infrastructure, material and technical base, simulation center, dental center, and medical clinic serve under the motto "Medicine is an eternal profession" for the purpose of "Prolonging human life."

From the very day of admission, university students have the opportunity to undergo practical training simultaneously with theoretical classes, and to form and develop professional knowledge aimed at building practical skills in all specialized healthcare medical institutions of the region.

The university has a 1000-bed student dormitory located on its campus, which creates convenient opportunities and ease for our students.

In addition, there is a 10-story clinic being built based on the global JCI accreditation requirements, which serves to build practical skills for students, and forms the basis for student practice and future employment.

International partnerships

BUKHARA INNOVATION EDUCATION AND MEDICAL UNIVERSITY — INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

Bukhara Innovation Education and Medical University (BITU) is actively developing cooperation and academic exchange programmes with foreign higher education institutions, primarily in the field of medicine. The university's main goals in this area are to raise the research potential of its staff to world standards, to learn from the education systems of the world's leading universities and apply this experience to its own academic process, and to establish the exchange of experience among professors, staff and students at the international level.

Within this cooperation, the university works together with its foreign partners on scientific research and innovative ideas, the improvement of teaching methods, internships abroad and the involvement of foreign partners, as well as participation in international programmes and grants.


PARTNER UNIVERSITIES

Wenzhou Medical University (People's Republic of China).
Cooperation was established on the basis of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in December 2024: the provision of online medical textbooks and cooperation in scientific work. In the future, it is planned to organise a faculty or short courses in traditional Chinese medicine — acupuncture (needle therapy) and heat treatment. The university's positions in international rankings are: #486 in the QS Asia University Rankings, 801–1000 in the THE World University Rankings, and 501–600 in the ARWU (ShanghaiRanking) (2026); by subject, 401–500 in Business and Economics and 501–600 in Medical Sciences.

Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU, Azerbaijan).
On the basis of the MOU of December 2024, an internship programme for professors and students has been established, and cooperation in scientific work will be expanded in the future. AMU is the largest medical institution in Baku, ranks 5th in the country and is placed in the 1001–1500 range in medicine worldwide. The university holds international accreditation (IAAR/WFME) in general medicine, dentistry and pharmacy and shows high national rankings for SDG 3 ("Good Health and Well-being").

Korea Aerospace University (South Korea).
On the basis of a contract signed in October 2025, an inter-university joint programme is being established; within this programme, students will study in Korea and Uzbekistan and have the opportunity to obtain an internationally recognised diploma.


2026 PLANS

From September 2026, a series of scientific works with Wenzhou University will begin. In the summer of 2026, an internship programme will be held at Azerbaijan Medical University, with the participation of 10 students and 2 professors. In addition, in 2026 a broad plan of cooperation and exchange programmes with foreign higher education institutions in the field of medicine will be implemented.


NEW PROJECTS 2026 (ECONOMICS AND FOREIGN LANGUAGES)

In 2026, the university plans to launch two new international partnerships in the fields of economics and foreign languages.

Staffordshire University (United Kingdom) — 825th in the QS World University Rankings (2024), 1201–1500 in the THE World Ranking (2026), 814th in the QS Sustainability Ranking (2026), and among the top five universities in the United Kingdom for social inclusion (Times and Sunday Times, 2025).

Asia Pacific University (APU, Malaysia) — #597 in the QS World University Rankings (2026), #147 in the QS Asia Rankings (2026), Top 4 in ASEAN and Top 2 in Malaysia (2025); ranked #10 in the world for international student diversity and #16 for the number of international students, and the first Malaysian university to achieve a 5-Stars Plus rating.


REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION IN COOPERATION

To participate in international cooperation activities, staff and students are required to know foreign languages (Russian, English, Turkish, etc.), to have experience in carrying out scientific work, and to share their experience with others.

In the modern education system, thorough mastery of foreign languages and perfect literacy in the state language is one of the important competencies of every specialist. For this purpose, special training courses in Uzbek, Korean, Russian, and English languages have been organized at our university for students, professors, teachers, and all listeners interested in learning languages.

These courses are conducted on the basis of modern educational programs by qualified and experienced pedagogues. Classes are organized at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels based on the knowledge level and needs of the listeners.

During the courses, special attention is paid to the development of the following skills of the listeners:

  • Improving grammar knowledge and vocabulary;
  • Formation of listening comprehension and free communication skills;
  • Effective preparation for international and national language certificates.
