About the university

Andijan State Medical Institute was established in 1955. Since it was the only higher educational institution of Fergana Valley in the medical field, a lot of work was done to establish the activities of the institute. Outstanding achievements in the development of  Andijan State Medical Institute of such selfless compatriots as Yusuf Otabekovich Otabekov, Rakhim Muhammedovich Nurmukhammedov, Satkul Usmanovich Dzhumabaev and professional doctors should be noted.

Former graduate of the Andijan State Medical Institute, academician Feruz Gafurovich Nazirov, doctor of medical sciences, professor, director of the specialized scientific and practical surgery center named after Academician V.Vokhidova, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan

In 1998-2009. worked as the Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. To date, FG Nazirov has published over 550 scientific articles on topical problems of medicine, 5 monographs, and 11 copyright inventions .. 15 doctoral 13 candidate dissertations were defended under the guidance of FG Nazirov. FG Nazirova is a member of editorial board of many foreign journals. For many years he has been a member of the Association of Surgeons of Uzbekistan and Russia named after A. N.I. Pirogova. He is also vice-president of the Association of Hepatologists of Russia and the CIS. In 2003, at an international meeting held in Austria, he was elected a member of the regional department of the World Health Organization.

In 1997, he was awarded the honorary title “Honorary Health Officer of Uzbekistan”. In 2005, in Moscow, he was awarded the Pirogov Gold Medal. In 2016, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, he was awarded the order “Mehnat shuhrati”.

             The Faculty of Medicine was established in October 1955. The first dean of the Faculty of Medicine was Associate Professor K.A. Zufarov. At that time, the faculty had 10 departments and 120 students studied. Later, the number of students increased and the number of departments began to increase. Currently, B.Yu.Mamatov is the dean of the faculty, J.T.Akhmadaliev, Q.I.Sultanov, M.M.O'lmasov, B.B.Komilov, H.Ergashev and O.O.Sobirov are working as deputy deans. are going. Today, there are 4 directions in our faculty, treatment work, professional education, folk medicine and higher nursing work. Today, a total of 5,751 students, 1,327 students on the basis of state grants, and 4,424 students on the basis of payment contracts are studying in these directions. The Faculty of Pediatrics was established in November 1966. In 1972, the faculty was closed due to the opening of the Central Asian Medical Pediatrics Institute in Tashkent, and it was restored in 1977. Currently, there are 14 departments in the Faculty of Pediatrics. Most of these departments are located in the educational building and clinic of the institute. The remaining clinical departments are located in the bases of regional hospitals.

The Faculty of Pediatrics prepares general pediatricians working in the primary medical system. The faculty has 14 departments, 2 of which are headed by professors, and 12 by associate professors. 253 professors and teachers work in the faculty, 14 of them are doctors of science - professors, 82 are candidates of science and associate professors, 142 are senior teachers and assistants teaching the secrets of medical science to students. In the departments where graduate courses are held, students work in modern clinical training bases with all the necessary conditions. The science of pediatric surgery is taught at the regional children's clinical hospital and the 2nd regional children's clinical hospital, the science of pediatrics is taught at the regional children's clinical hospital, the science of children's infectious diseases is taught at the base of the regional infectious diseases hospital. 14 doctors of science and professors, 36 associate professors and 59 qualified assistant teachers work in these departments. Currently, 2079 students are studying at the faculty. 5 of them are foreign citizens and 3 are students of second higher education. Currently, Rakhmanov Ravshanbek Rakhimberdiyevich works as the dean of the Faculty of Pediatrics.

In 2015, Ibragimov Makhamadjon Bakhramdjanovich, associate professor of the Department of Pediatrics, and Nuritdinova Gavkhar Tayipovna, associate professor of the Department of Facultative Pediatrics and Neonatology, were awarded the medal "Healthcare Excellence of the Republic of Uzbekistan".

In 2021, Svetlana Mikhaylovna Babich, head of the Department of Social Hygiene and SSB, Mamadjonov Kamildjon Khasanbaevich, senior lecturer of the Department of Traumatology, Orthopedics and Neurosurgery, and Toychiev Galibzhan Ormonjonovich, associate professor of the Department of Pediatric Surgery, were awarded the medal "Health Care Excellence of the Republic of Uzbekistan" in 2021.

The Faculty of Pharmacy was established in August 2022.  Associate Professor Bozorov Sh.T., first dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy.  Today the faculty has 1 dean,                 3 deputy deans and 1 dean coordinator. Currently, the faculty has 13 departments, where 761 students study.  Today there are 2 directions at our faculty: “Pharmacy” and “industrial pharmacy”.

 Today, 761 students are studying in these areas, 155 students on the basis of a state grant and 606 students on the basis of a paid agreement.  114 people are studying on the basis of a state grant, 518 - on a paid contract basis in the direction of "Pharmacy",

The faculty of Advanced Training  and Retraining of Physicians  of ASMI was эstabliшed according to the order of  Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan №864 dated July 6, 1984docent, K.R. Mirzaev was appointed as Dean of the Faculty. The main task of the faculty of Advanced Training of the specialists from  Fergana, Andijan, Namangan regions and  provision on theoretical and practical assistance.

Since 27 years, the faculty was headed by 7 deans:  Professor K.R. Mirzaev (1984–1988), Professor T.Z. Zhumabayev (1988–1998), docent B.Э. Begmatov (1998 - 2000), doctor of medical sciences, docent K.A. Shadmanov Alisher Kayumovich

Viktor Vasilievich Maleev

Azizov Mirxakim Javxarovich

Azizov Mirkhakim Zhavkharovich was born in 1950 in the Balikchi district of the Andijan region. In 1974 he graduated from the medical faculty of Andrei State Medical Institute. From 1975 to 1982 he worked as a traumatologist at a regional hospital. From 1982 to 1984 he completed clinical residency at CITO in Moscow. After graduation, he worked as an assistant, and since 1992, as an associate professor at the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics 2 of the Tashkent State Medical Institute. In 1987 he defended his Ph.D. thesis. In 1994, M.Zh. Azizov became the head of the department of pathology of large joints and spine at the NIITiO Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. For the first time in the Republic, he began the use of modern foreign designs of hip joint endoprostheses. In 1995, M.Zh.Azizov defended his doctoral dissertation. In 1997, he was appointed director of NIITiO of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Under his leadership, a radical restructuring of all areas of the institute's activities began: the massive introduction of the best foreign technologies, especially in operative arthrology and vertebrology, computerization and equipping with new equipment, intensification of the diagnostic and treatment process. Svetlana Tursunkhojayevna Inomova

Svetlana Inamova was born in 1951 in the city of Andijan. Highly educated. Svetlana Inamova graduated from Andijan State Medical Institute in 1974. Ayshakhan Kochkarova

Former student of Andijan State Medical Institute, Hero of Uzbekistan Ayshakhan Kochkarova studied at the Faculty of Medicine of Andijan State Medical Institute in 1958-1964. Onesia Saitova Saidovna

Former student of Andijan State Medical Institute, Hero of Uzbekistan Onesiya Seitova graduated from Andijan State Medical Institute in 1972. He started working in a rural hospital in Shumanay district, Republic of Karakalpakstan, and rose from the rank of ordinary doctor to the position of chief doctor.
