Theory and methods of physical education and sports training

History and main function of the department:

In accordance with the "Organizational structure of the Urganch State Pedagogical Institute" approved by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2022 and the decision of the Council of the Institute on September 6, 2022, the Department of "Technology and Physical Education" was established. From the academic year 2023-2024, the name of the department was named "Physical education". Currently, the head of the department is Professor Matnazarov Oktam Latipovich, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences.

The main tasks of the department: organization of activities of students in preschool educational institutions, comprehensive schools, academic lyceums and vocational colleges, vocational schools and technical schools in physical education classes, systematic organization of the process of physical education in educational institutions and management, aimed at teaching knowledge such as promoting a healthy lifestyle and popularizing physical education among social strata of society.

In the department of physical education, bachelors in the field of 60112200 - physical education and masters in the specialty 70112201 - "Theory and methodology of physical education and sports training" are trained.

The main goal of the department is to study the history of the development of physical education and sports, to train highly qualified personnel who can apply modern pedagogic and information and communication technologies in educational processes, to use advanced international and foreign experiences to develop high-level foreign and local students. It consists in improving the personnel training system by involving qualified specialists and trainers in educational processes, educating highly qualified specialists and talented students.
