The Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering at Al-Khwarizmi University is crafted to develop future-ready software engineers equipped with both deep theoretical knowledge and hands-on technical skills.

Rooted in the latest global standards and aligned with the needs of Uzbekistan’s growing digital economy, the program bridges computation, information, and automation, offering a balanced education across both foundational theory and real-world application.

What You’ll Learn

Students will gain a solid grounding in:

• Algorithms, theory of computation, and information theory – the backbone of all intelligent systems.
• Programming languages and paradigms to express and execute computational processes effectively.
• Database systems for organizing, storing, and managing vast amounts of data efficiently.
• Computer architecture and hardware design, understanding how computing machines are built and optimized.
• Operating systems, computer networks, and embedded systems, exploring the design of complex and interconnected systems.
• Cybersecurity and cryptography, ensuring secure design and data protection.

A major emphasis is placed on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) – now essential in modern software systems. Students will apply AI/ML to real-world domains such as:

• Computer vision – enabling machines to interpret visual information.
• Natural Language Processing (NLP) – teaching computers to understand and generate human language

Learning takes place through a combination of face-to-face teaching and independent study, including lectures, practical tutorials, laboratory sessions, personal development sessions, real-life project briefs and case studies.

Students study 60 ECTS credits per year. The structure of the course is a subject to change by feedback received from a variety of sources.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. High school/Lyceum/College diploma or higher

2. Proof of English Language Proficiency:

• TOEFL iBT 46 or higher
• Note: We accept only the TOEFL iBT taken at approved test centers. We do not accept the TOEFL iBT Home Edition.
• IELTS 5.5 or higher
• CEFR B2
