Content of the Educational Program

Title: Instrumental Performance (Piano (Organ))

Description:

The purpose of teaching this discipline is to deepen the professional knowledge, skills, and competencies of master's students, as well as to develop their individuality. It aims to help students achieve a broad and comprehensively high level of piano performance mastery and technique; attain supreme artistry and freedom in both ensemble and solo performances; fully unlock their creative potential and develop musical thinking; and utilize modern musical-pedagogical technologies and methods that stimulate learning activities, while educating students at a high artistic level.

Over the course of 2 years, you will acquire both theoretical and practical skills in Instrumental Performance (Piano).

Within this educational program, you are required to collect a total of 120 credits over 4 semesters (2 years). This includes:

• Total classroom hours: 1,800 hours

• Scientific internship: 480 hours

• Scientific-pedagogical work: 240 hours

• Preparation of Master's dissertation: 1,080 hours

Components of the Educational Process

Note:

• 1 credit is equal to 30 academic hours.

• When developing the working curriculum based on the basic curriculum, while maintaining the weekly student workload, it is permitted to alter the volume of the block of disciplines by up to 5%, and the volume of individual disciplines within the blocks by up to 10%. Additionally, the weekly workload for specific semesters can be determined flexibly, provided that the total volume of classroom workload is maintained.

• The timeframe allocated for the completion of the Master's dissertation also includes the period for its defense.

• Practical sessions for specialized disciplines included in the curriculum shall, if necessary, be conducted at the higher education institution, as well as at base organizations and enterprises.

• To ensure the integration of theory and practice, 240 hours are allocated for the scientific internship in the 2nd semester, and 240 hours in the 4th semester.

• Higher education institutions shall take into account the requirements of employers when developing the curricula for specialized disciplines.

• Based on the specific characteristics of higher education institutions in the field of arts, classes may be conducted individually (1–10 students) for certain disciplines, in small groups (2–12 students), in standard groups (13–25 students), and in combined academic groups (up to 100 students).

• A total of 50 hours is allocated during the 5-week period specified in the academic schedule for supervising the preparation of the Master's dissertation (performance program—musical scores and their brief written descriptive analysis).

• Accompaniment (accompanist) hours for classes are designated as follows: accompaniment hours for the disciplines "Piano Performance" and "Ensemble Class (Piano)" (in cases where a collaborative performer is required) are allocated at 100% of the total time specified in the curriculum; for the piano duet or accompaniment mastery (accompanist skills) class, they are allocated at 200%.
