70230101 – Linguistics (by Languages). This master's programme covers the set of professional fields related to the theory of general and comparative linguistics, the in-depth study of the phonological, morphological, syntactic and semantic systems of language, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, pragmatics and discourse analysis, corpus and computational linguistics, translation theory, and the conduct of independent research based on contemporary methodologies of language teaching. Graduates may work as lecturers and senior lecturers in higher education institutions, as researchers at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and sectoral research institutes, as methodologists and experts in language training and certification centres, as translators, interpreters and language consultants in public administration bodies and local and international organisations, as editors in publishing houses and the mass media, and continue their academic career in doctoral studies (PhD)
