On October 24, 2024, a delegation from the Samarkand State Architectural and Construction University, led by Rector Dr. Chidem Turkyilmaz, visited the Nanjing Polytechnic Institute, located in Jiangsu Province, People's Republic of China.

Initially, the meeting focused on the cooperation between Samarkand State Architectural and Construction University and Nanjing Polytechnic Institute, as well as discussions related to the Jiangsu Library and the Zhenghe Joint Institute. During the meeting, SamDAQU Rector Professor Chidem Turkyilmaz and Nanjing Polytechnic Institute Rector Professor Zhang Xiaojin shared insights on the ongoing collaborative efforts and planned future projects. The meeting also led to the agreement to establish the "Jiangsu Library" at SamDAQU, under the collaboration of Jiangsu Phoenix Vocational Education Books Co. Ltd, Nanjing Polytechnic Institute, and SamDAQU. A symbolic opening ceremony of the library was held, with the first 2,000 copies of books to be delivered by Jiangsu Phoenix Vocational Education Books Co. Ltd in November. The delegation also participated in the opening ceremony of the Central Asia Research Center, which is being established at Nanjing Polytechnic Institute.

Following this, the main topic of the meeting focused on the Zhenghe Joint Institute and its further popularization. The discussion covered the establishment of a 2+2 joint education program, which aims to provide highly qualified professionals for Uzbekistan’s growing construction industry by enrolling students in the "Chemical Engineering" program in the 2025-2026 academic year. A decision was made to form "Working Groups" to handle the development of curricula, syllabi, qualification requirements, and the content of the subjects. In order to successfully implement this joint education program, the involvement of qualified foreign specialists, including experienced professors from Nanjing Polytechnic Institute, was agreed upon. The possibilities for collaboration in postgraduate education, including supervision for master’s students and doctoral candidates, as well as co-authoring scientific articles and preparing educational literature, were also thoroughly discussed.
