Professional competencies in the “Islamic Studies” master’s degree program at the International Academy of Islamic Studies of Uzbekistan

70220206-Students studying in the “Islamic Studies” master’s degree program must have scientific knowledge, a solid theoretical foundation and practical skills. The professional competencies formed in this program are manifested in several main areas. Students acquire knowledge in the field of the Quran, hadith, jurisprudence, kalam, aqeedah, tasawwuf, Islamic history, as well as the ability to scientifically analyze their sources. Practical skills are formed in the analysis of jurisprudential schools, their historical formation and doctrinal views, and modern approaches to Islamic studies. In addition, students are formed in the skills of reading, analyzing and translating religious texts, especially sources in Arabic. They will acquire practical skills such as organizing religious and educational events, establishing effective dialogue with different segments of the population, and being able to give reasonable and understandable answers to religious questions.

Students will develop the skills to conduct independent scientific research, write scientific articles, prepare term papers and graduation theses based on scientific methodology. They will also have the ability to work independently with religious and scientific sources in Uzbek and foreign languages, and effectively conduct scientific research using modern information and communication technologies. It is also important that students studying in the field of Islamic studies are able to actively participate in ensuring socio-spiritual stability in the religious sphere, strengthening religious tolerance and interethnic harmony, and have the ability to fight extremist and radical trends that may arise in society on an educational basis.

In general, professional competencies in the field of "Islamic Studies" provide students with deep scientific knowledge, a strong moral position, the ability to think independently and conduct practical activities, preparing them to be reliable, responsible, and effective religious and educational personnel in society.
