UNESCO representative at the branch

On October 10 of this year, at the Nukus Branch of the Uzbekistan State Conservatory, within the framework of a UNESCO grant allocated in the Republic of Karakalpakstan for the preservation of intangible cultural heritage, a meeting was organized under the leadership of Professor Orozali Toshmatov from the Department of “Music Performance and Music Theory” of the Uzbekistan State Institute of Arts and Culture, with the aim of conducting a seminar for cultural sector specialists.

At the beginning of the event, Orozali Toshmatov and the participants toured the new building of the branch, highly appreciated its design, and congratulated the director of the branch, R. Allanbayev. They also became closely acquainted with the educational process of the institution.

Orozali Toshmatov emphasized the importance for students of mastering Karakalpak national melodies more deeply and presenting them clearly to the public, and shared valuable insights on reviving forgotten folk epics and songs.

The event continued with a concert program performed by the Folk Instruments Orchestra and students, organized under the leadership of Professor Hikmat Rajabov, composer, holder of the “Shuhrat” medal and honorary title “Honored Youth Mentor of the Republic of Karakalpakstan,” from the Department of Music Performance of the Nukus Branch of the Uzbekistan State Conservatory.
