A Practical Outcome of International Education: 35 KITC Students Successfully Pass TOPIK

In today's interconnected world, learning a foreign language is no longer just an additional skill; it is a gateway to new educational and professional opportunities. This is particularly true for academic programmes connected with the Republic of Korea, one of the world's leading countries in technology and innovation.

Students of the Korean Institute of Technology and Culture (KITC) at Samarkand International University of Technology are demonstrating remarkable achievements in this area.

From the second half of 2025 to the first half of 2026, 35 KITC students successfully passed the internationally recognised Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK). This achievement reflects the students' consistent efforts, the dedication of their instructors, and the effective language-learning environment established at the university.

Currently, KITC students are pursuing studies in three forward-looking fields: Renewable Energy Sources, Design, and Digital Economy. One of the distinctive features of the programme is that students study Korean intensively alongside their major disciplines.

Particularly noteworthy is that Korean language classes are taught by professors invited directly from the Republic of Korea. This enables students not only to master the language but also to gain a deeper understanding of Korean culture, academic traditions, and modern communication practices.

Commenting on the achievement, Kim In Tae, Head of the Korean Cultural Centre, stated:

"From my perspective, this is one of the strongest results among higher education institutions in Samarkand. Our students demonstrate a genuine interest in learning Korean. Certain similarities between Uzbek and Korean grammar also help them acquire the language more effectively. Today's results are a clear reflection of their dedication, perseverance, and enthusiasm."

Students' international preparation extends far beyond the classroom. In January this year, a group of KITC students participated in an academic visit to Konyang University, one of the respected universities in the Republic of Korea.

During the visit, students explored Korea's higher education system, scientific laboratories, innovation centres, and modern university infrastructure. Most importantly, they had the opportunity to experience the language and culture firsthand while gaining valuable international academic exposure.

Another significant advantage of KITC programmes is the Double Diploma system, which allows students to continue their studies at partner universities in Korea and earn an internationally recognised joint degree.

The recent TOPIK results, academic visits to Korea, and international educational opportunities clearly demonstrate that KITC students are not only developing professional expertise in their chosen fields but are also acquiring the language proficiency, global outlook, and intercultural competencies required to succeed in today's international environment.

These achievements provide a strong foundation for their future academic and professional success.
