A Memorandum of Cooperation Was Signed with the Xi'an Aeronautical Polytechnic Institute of China.
An important international meeting was held at Kokand State University as part of the official visit of the delegation from the Xi'an Aeronautical Polytechnic Institute (XAPI), one of the prestigious higher education institutions of the People's Republic of China. The event marked another significant step toward expanding the university’s international partnerships and implementing new promising projects in the fields of education and scientific research.
The XAPI delegation included Liu Zhiwu, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange; Yao Rui, Dean of the School of Aeronautical Manufacturing Engineering; Tian Xiaohong, Head of the New Energy Vehicle Application and Maintenance Program; Kong Lingyin, UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) Technology Specialist; and other representatives of the institute. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the leadership of Kokand State University, along with officials responsible for international cooperation and academic affairs.
Opening the ceremony, Dilnoza Khodjayeva, Rector of Kokand State University, emphasized that the comprehensive reforms implemented in Uzbekistan’s higher education system in recent years have elevated international cooperation to an entirely new level. She also presented detailed information on the university’s scientific potential, modern educational environment, and partnerships with foreign higher education institutions.
The participants then exchanged presentations on the universities’ current development indicators, participation in international rankings, joint educational programs, academic mobility opportunities, and future projects. In turn, Liu Zhiwu introduced XAPI’s activities, achievements in aeronautics, engineering, and innovative technologies, and proposals for expanding cooperation with Kokand State University.
The most significant part of the meeting focused on collaborative projects. The two sides discussed several promising initiatives of mutual interest, including the establishment of the Central Asian Drone Academy, the Smart Silk Road Innovation Center, the Digital Aviation Summer School, and the China–Uzbekistan Future Engineers Program. These initiatives are expected to promote modern engineering education, strengthen young people's innovative capacity, facilitate joint scientific research, and encourage the exchange of international experience.
Technical discussions covered UAV technologies, aeronautical manufacturing, new energy vehicles, modern engineering education, and the development of practice-oriented academic programs. Experts also shared proposals on scientific research cooperation, faculty and student exchanges, the establishment of joint laboratories, and the practical implementation of innovative developments.
One of the most important highlights of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between Kokand State University and Xi'an Aeronautical Polytechnic Institute. The agreement provides a solid legal foundation for long-term cooperation in education, science, innovation, academic exchange, faculty development, and the implementation of joint international projects.
The event concluded with a group photo session, the exchange of commemorative gifts, and an official luncheon. Held in a warm and constructive atmosphere, the meeting further strengthened mutual trust between the two institutions and created broad opportunities for implementing major international educational and innovation projects in the future.
