Uzbekistan State Sports Academy

The Uzbekistan State Sports Academy was established in accordance with Resolution No. PQ-197 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 28, 2024, “On Measures for Organizing the Activities of the Uzbekistan State Sports Academy.” 

The Academy’s primary mission is to train highly qualified sports professionals and specialists under modern conditions and in line with contemporary requirements; to further enhance the country’s sporting achievements through the development of a new generation of athletes and coaches; and to organize educational and scientific research activities in the field of physical education and sports in accordance with international standards.

The Academy’s main objectives include:

training modern specialists based on the experience of leading sports higher education institutions in countries with outstanding sports achievements;
organizing the educational process through the application of international experience and developing scientifically based methodologies;
conducting comprehensive scientific research, experiments, and laboratory testing in sports;
introducing modern mechanisms for retraining and professional development of specialists in physical education and sports;
studying methods and characteristics of implementing modern sports theory and practice systems within the country to prepare elite athletes;
conducting in-depth scientific analysis of competition results and developing recommendations for further improvement of sporting achievements.

The Academy system includes:

Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports;
Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Specialists in Physical Education and Sports, along with its branches.
Center for Teaching History of Uzbekistan and Foreign Languages (without legal entity status), which includes the Information-Library Center.
Scientific-Practical Center of Sports Medicine.

1. BACHELOR'S Degree Programs

"Sports Activity (by types of activity)" — qualification: "Coach".
"Adaptive Physical Culture and Sports (parasport)" — qualification: "Coach".
"Sports Management" — qualification: "Sports Manager and Sports Analyst".
Graduates receive a "Bachelor's" academic degree and a state-patterned diploma. Bachelor's programs represent basic higher education with a study duration of no less than 4 years.

2. MASTER'S Degree Specializations

"Sports Activity (by types of activity)" — "Coach, specialist in organizational management in the field of sports".
"Adaptive Physical Culture and Sports (parasport)" — "Coach, specialist in organizational management in the field of sports".
"Sports Law" — "Sports Lawyer".
"Sports Management" — "Sports Manager".
"Sports Marketing" — "Sports Marketer".
"Sports Psychology" — "Sports Psychologist".
Graduates receive a "Master's" academic degree and a state-patterned diploma. Master's programs represent higher education with a study duration of no less than 2 years.

Current students include winners and prize-holders of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Asian and Para Asian Games, as well as World, Asian, and Uzbekistan championships.
Formed using advanced pedagogical technologies with extensive application of experience from leading foreign higher education institutions. Students balance theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
Infrastructure: Equipped with modern sports facilities and scientific laboratories to help students fully unlock their potential and develop professionally.
Effective cooperation is established with the University of Trento (Italy), Hungarian University of Sports Science, Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health (St. Petersburg), and L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
Training methods, analytical approaches, and performance mechanisms are being studied based on the model of the Australian Institute of Sport

The Academy is equipped with modern sports facilities for student-athletes, including:

Football field;
Swimming pool;
Velodrome;
Team sports complex;
Martial arts complex;
Modern gym.
These sports facilities serve for regular training sessions, preparation for competitions, and the development of practical skills of students and athletes.

The Academy system also includes institutions dedicated to the high-level preparation of athletes:

Republican Center for Olympic and Paralympic Sports Training;
Water Sports School located at the Tashkent Sea;
Oksana Chusovitina Specialized Republican Olympic Reserve School of Gymnastics.
To organize the educational process in accordance with international standards, the Academy employs:

Highly qualified professors and lecturers;
Experienced coaches and sports specialists.
To ensure high-quality education, the following educational and research infrastructure has been established:

Modern classrooms;
Information and Resource Center;
Foreign Languages Teaching Center;
Scientific laboratories;
Sports psychology room;
Innovative educational and research environment.
For students’ accommodation and recreation, the Academy provides:

Modern student residence (sports student hotel);
Spacious and comfortable dining hall;
Opportunities for meaningful leisure activities outside academic and sports training.
Taking into account the physical demands placed on student-athletes, a special nutrition system has been introduced, providing:

Five meals a day;
An average daily nutritional intake of 9,560 kcal.
In addition, the Academy has created all necessary conditions for the development of students’ physical, psychological, and scientific potential through:

Scientific analysis of sports performance;
Laboratory testing and research activities;
Sports psychology services;
Foreign language learning opportunities;
Access to modern information resources;
Education based on international best practices.
This infrastructure and these opportunities provide a solid foundation for preparing student-athletes in accordance with international standards, enhancing their academic, professional, and athletic competencies, and helping them achieve outstanding sports results.

The Uzbekistan State Academy of Sports, with the aim of expanding cooperation in education, science, and sports, training qualified personnel, and developing research activities, has signed a number of memoranda and cooperation agreements with both foreign and domestic organizations.

In particular, the Academy has established partnerships with foreign higher education institutions. On December 25, 2025, a memorandum was signed with the P.F. Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health (St. Petersburg, Russian Federation) in the fields of scientific research, professional retraining, additional education, and exchange of academic and research staff. In addition, on March 27, 2026, a cooperation memorandum was signed with the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences of the University of Trento (Italy), aimed at conducting scientific research, exchanging academic publications, and implementing student exchange programs.

The Academy also places special emphasis on developing cooperation with sports federations. In particular, memoranda of cooperation have been signed with the Uzbekistan Judo Federation, the Adaptive Sports Association, the Rowing & Canoe Federation, and the federations of Weightlifting, Archery, Gymnastics, Shooting Sports, Athletics, Cycling, and Wrestling.

These agreements are aimed at strengthening athletes’ preparation for international competitions, organizing joint training camps and seminars, training highly qualified specialists, and enhancing cooperation and partnership between the Academy and the respective sports federations.

In addition, memorandums have been signed with the Republican, Chirchiq, Jizzakh, Fergana, Namangan, Samarkand, and Gulistan Olympic and Paralympic sports training centers. The cooperation includes scientific and practical research, exchange of experience among coaches and specialists, and creation of necessary conditions for development.

Furthermore, on January 13, 2026, a memorandum was signed with the Specialized Gymnastics School named after Oksana Chusovitina.

Overall, to date the Academy has signed 20 cooperation memorandums, including 2 foreign higher education institutions, 10 sports federations, 7 Olympic and Paralympic training centers, and 1 specialized sports school. This cooperation contributes to further strengthening the Academy’s potential in education, science, and sports.
