About the university

Tashkent State Transport University: fundamental improvement of the system of training of highly qualified personnel for the republican transport sector based on advanced foreign experience and international standards, innovative forms and methods of teaching and the wide introduction of modern pedagogical and information technologies into the educational process, as well as network education in order to strengthen the material and technical base of institutions and further increase their scientific potential: the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education and the Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers of the joint-stock company "Uzbekistan Railways", Tashkent Automobile On the basis of the Institute of Design, Construction and Operation of Roads and the Faculty of Aerospace Technologies of Tashkent State Technical University, Tashkent State Transport University was established in accordance with the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-4703 dated May 4, 2020.

The main tasks and areas of activity of the university:
- based on the needs of the transport sector, training, retraining and upgrading of the competitive higher education specialists and scientific-pedagogical personnel, as well as general profession specialists in the labor market;
- to carry out fundamental, practical and innovative research and studies on current issues of the development of the transport sector, to develop proposals for the wide implementation of their results, including digital and other modern technologies;
- development of cooperation with leading foreign higher education and scientific institutions in order to implement joint educational programs and scientific projects, improve the qualifications of university professors and organize graduates to study in master's and doctoral programs abroad;
- to create a continuous system of personnel training for the transport industry, to ensure the continuity and integrity of educational programs of academic lyceums and professional educational institutions of the sector;
- in order to ensure that theoretical training is inextricably linked with practice during the educational process, together with organizations in the field of transport, to organize students' internships in organizations of the relevant field, to establish targeted cooperation on providing employment to graduates.

International Cooperation

Tashkent State Transport University (TSTU) is committed to strengthening international cooperation by building strategic partnerships with leading universities, research institutions, and international organizations around the world. Internationalization is one of the university’s key priorities, aimed at enhancing the quality of education, research, innovation, and global academic engagement.

Global Partnerships

Today, TSTU cooperates with higher education institutions and international organizations from 26 countries, having signed nearly 300 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and cooperation agreements covering education, research, innovation, and academic exchange.

The university continues to expand its international network by establishing partnerships with world-renowned institutions. As part of this initiative, cooperation proposals have been sent to nearly 40 universities ranked among the QS World University Rankings Top 300, resulting in the establishment of new strategic partnerships, including with North Carolina State University (USA) and Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany).

International Academic Programs

TSTU offers 62 international educational programs in cooperation with partner universities from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Poland, Türkiye, France, the Republic of Korea, and the People's Republic of China.

One of the university's landmark achievements is the establishment of the Uzbekistan–China Faculty of Transport and Logistics in partnership with Chang'an University (China). Through negotiations with the Government of Shaanxi Province, TSTU received an educational grant of USD 1.8 million, providing scholarship opportunities for:

  • 10 PhD students;

  • 40 Master's students;

  • 60 Bachelor's students.

Academic Mobility

Academic mobility plays a central role in the university's international development strategy.

Between 2022 and 2025, 380 students participated in international mobility programs:

  • 240 outgoing students studied abroad at partner universities;

  • 140 incoming international students completed exchange studies at TSTU.

In addition, nearly 300 faculty members successfully completed professional development programs, internships, research visits, and academic training at prestigious foreign universities and international organizations.

International Students

The university's growing international reputation has led to a steady increase in international student enrollment. Currently, 89 international students are studying at TSTU, and the university plans to increase this number to 300 students in the coming academic year.

Research and Innovation

TSTU actively promotes international scientific collaboration and innovation.

In 2025, two joint international research projects with Chinese partners were awarded grants totaling UZS 3.8 billion, further strengthening the university's research capacity.

As part of the Belt and Road Initiative, TSTU is implementing the Lu Ban Workshop project with a total investment of USD 1.8 million. The project focuses on advanced engineering education, applied training, and the development of modern technical competencies.

Erasmus+ and International Projects

TSTU actively participates in the Erasmus+ Programme, expanding cooperation with European universities and promoting academic mobility.

Within the Erasmus+ KA171 Mobility Programme, professors from Hasan Kalyoncu University (Türkiye) have delivered lectures and seminars at TSTU. University faculty members also participate in international training courses, workshops, and professional exchange activities through the UNIFROUZ Erasmus+ Project, contributing to the modernization and internationalization of higher education.

To provide students with access to cutting-edge technologies and global expertise, TSTU has established several international centers of excellence:

  • Uzbek–French 3DEXPERIENCE Center – the first center of its kind in Central Asia, operating on the Dassault Systèmes digital engineering platform;

Within the framework of cooperation with Airbus, students specializing in Aviation Transport Engineering have completed six-month professional internships in France.

The Language Club – Foreign Languages Center at Tashkent State Transport University (TSTU) offers high-quality language education for students and all individuals interested in learning foreign languages. The main objectives of the Language Club are:

Opportunities for students

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation has allocated a total of 10 quotas to Tashkent State Transport University within the framework of the competition of presidential and nominal state scholarships of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the 2023/2024 academic year. These are 1 president, 1 Islam Karimov, 1 Nawab and 7 Berunias. A total of 18 university students took part in the competition, and 12 were recommended to the Republican Party. In addition, 2 talented students of our university took part in the Republican stage of this competition within the framework of the master's degree. A total of 10 of our students won a gold medal and were enrolled in the number of state fellows.
The university has created conditions for talented students to work, and their potential is clearly visible.The selection of gifted students for various competitions, Olympiads and scholarship programs is an important aspect of our academic life. For example, last academic year, our students successfully participated in international competitions such as the CAECW International Invitation Competition – Reading and Drafting Construction Drawings and the CAECW International Invitation Competition – Internet of Things Technologies, demonstrating their knowledge and taking 3rd place in the ranking, which brought our university honorary awards.

Information about the International Education Programs Faculty of Tashkent State Transport University

 

The International Educational Programs Faculty was established according to the Agreement (dated 21.09.2018) and the Article (dated 05.12.2018) between the Belarusian National Technical University (hereinafter BNTU) and the Tashkent Institute for Design, Construction and Maintenance of Automobile Roads (hereinafter TIDSMAR) in 2018, as a Joint Faculty of BNTU and TIDSMAR (from 16.03.2019).

         The Joint Faculty activity rules (the Joint Faculty Regulations) were approved by the Rector of BNTU S.V.Kharitonchik and the Rector of TIDSMAR A.A.Riskulov in coordination with the Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan I.U.Majidov and the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus I.V.Karpenko.

Based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 4, 2020 No. 4703 "On measures to radically improve the system of personnel training in the field of transport", paragraph 2 indicated the transfer of the joint faculty to the Tashkent State Transport University (Transport University).

         According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Article on joint activities was signed between the BNTU and the Transport University on December 14, 2020.

         Organization of the Joint Faculty activities is regulated by the Resolution (hereinafter referred to as the Resolution) of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 421 dated July 6, 2021 "On approval of the regulations on the organization of educational activities based on joint education programs of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan and foreign partners".

According to the Resolution students study in the 1-st and 2-nd years at the Transport University (Tashkent), and in the 3-rd and 4-th years (correspondence studies III, IV and V) at BNTU (Minsk).

The BNTU educational activities are regulated by the state accreditation certificate No. 0008324, dated 22.06.2018 No. 543, and the certificate for the right to provide higher education of the 1-st level with an indication of the directions of education.

Educational process was carried out on the basis of curricula approved by the Rectors of BNTU and the Transport University.

The Faculty name was changed to the International Education Programs Faculty according to the order of the Rector of Tashkent State Transport University No. 235-U dated 31.08.2022.

In the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 706 dated August 9, 2021 "On Transport", the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 4703 dated May 4, 2020 and in other normative legal acts on personnel training, development and improvement of the system of advanced training, development of international cooperation, tasks were defined, according to which in the 2022/2023 academic year on a number of Cooperation agreements have been signed with the Belarusian National Technical University, the Belarusian State University of Transport, the Belarusian State Academy of Aviation, Czech Higher School of Logistics, Moscow Aviation Institute, Kazan Federal University, St. Petersburg State University of Railways named after Emperor Alexander I.

Taking into account the need for highly qualified personnel for the transport industry, from the 2022/2023 academic year, admission to the master's degree program “1 + 1” (first year at the Transport University (Tashkent), second year at the partner higher educational institution) has been announced in 5 specialties, Design and construction of automobile roads, Vehicles and automotive industry, Organization and management of transportation, High-speed electric trains and Transport logistics.

Educational process at the International education programs Faculty is carried out by the teaching staff, which scientific degree is 55.7% (according to the Resolution, the share of the teachers with scientific degree should be at least 30%).

Every year about 50 teachers are invited from higher educational institutions of foreign partners, 50% of them have a scientific degree and title.

Students who have successfully completed the 1-st and 2-nd years in Tashkent, according to the order of the Rector of the Transport University, are transferred to the 3-rd years to continue their studies at international universities.

Automobile and automotive industry department 

 

The department began its activity at the Central Asian Industrial Institute in September 1940, when the first students were admitted to full-time and part-time departments on the specialty "Automobile and automotive industry". GV Kramarenko, the head of the Department of "Operation of Vehicles" of the Moscow Institute of Motorways, professor, distinguished scientist and technical figure of Russia, made a significant contribution to the development of the department. Later, the department was developed under the name "Technical operation of automobiles" in the Central Asian Polytechnic Institute, in 1960 in the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute, and in 1972 in the newly established Tashkent Institute of Highways, and in the field of automobile transport with a large number of skilled personnel. provided. Since 2020, in connection with the establishment of the Tashkent State Transport University, the department began to operate under the name "Automotive and automotive industry" within the faculty of "Automotive transport engineering".

         The teaching staff of the " Automobile and Automotive Industry" department currently consists of 20 people: 2 professors, 9 associate professors, 4 senior teachers and 4 assistants, as well as 1 foreign teacher. are being conducted. In addition, 1 of the POs of our department has successfully defended his PhD in the TOP 300 HEIs and is currently continuing his work in our department.

The Tashkent State Transport University operates automobile transport for industry, agriculture, construction, water management, communication, trade, healthcare, utility, mining, culture, defense and other sectors. is working on the training of mature personnel.

Currently, the scientific capacity of the department is 65%. Professors and teachers of the department conduct scientific research in the field of motor transport and regularly solve the actual problems of motor transport enterprises on the basis of business contracts. By the department , Olmaliq JSC, "Okhangaronsement" JSC, "Toshshahartrans'hizmat" JSC, 2-Avtobus Saray, "PIT STOP MOTORS" LLC, "Makhsustrans" JSC, "Avtotexxizmat" JSC, "Toshavtota'mirkhizmat" JSC, "Krantas group" LLC, the specialized car industry of the Tashkent City Health Department, the DUK factories of the Scientific Production Center "Uzavtotranstechnika" and the joint innovation-corporate cooperation agreements were concluded with the OTM and ITIs. The department has created a database of modern production enterprises.

In the academic year of 2023-2024, 1 foreign professors were involved in the educational process at the department . This pedagogue was invited to TOP 1000 Higher Education Institutions and has the title of Candidate of Technical Sciences. In the current academic year, 3 pedagogues of the department have completed internships in foreign countries.

On the basis of the curriculum of the educational direction of vehicle engineering, automobile transport and automobile service, laboratory-practical trainings were conducted in 4 disciplines at production enterprises and scientific organizations. The share of laboratory work performed in production enterprises and scientific organizations is approximately 40-45%. A branch office of the department was established in the production building located near the 8th bus shed belonging to "Toshshahartranskhizmat" JSC. Faculty of Highway Engineering

The Faculty of Highway Engineering operates within Toshkent davlat transport universiteti and provides training for highly qualified, competitive engineering specialists in the fields of design, construction, reconstruction, and operation of highways and transport infrastructure. Improving the system of training highly qualified personnel for the transport industry of the republic on the basis of advanced foreign experience and international standards, the widespread introduction of innovative forms and methods of teaching, modern pedagogical and information technologies into the educational process, as well as. In order to strengthen the technical base and further increase the scientific potential, Tashkent State Transport University was established on 05/04/2020 on the basis of the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to improve the system of training personnel in the transport sector”. The structure of the university was reorganized and several faculties were created. Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor D.O. Radjibaev was appointed dean of the Faculty of Railway Engineering.

 

The faculty has five departments. These are the departments “Wagons and car economy”, “Locomotives and locomotive economy”, “Materials science and mechanical engineering”, “Structure of high-speed electric traffic” and “Natural sciences”, about 100 teachers work, more than 30% of the judges are leading scientists and teachers with academic titles and degrees. The faculty has four directions in railway transport and the economy of the republic: “Transport engineering (by type)”, and “Technological machines and equipment (railway transport)”. bachelors and “Railway transport (by type of transport)”, “Wagon economy”, “Electric trains”, “High-speed electric trains” and “Maintenance of technological machines and equipment (railway transport)” masters-masters. Thanks to the financial support of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, the University Fund and JSC “O’zbekiston Temir Yo’llari”, the teaching laboratories of the faculty are equipped with modern equipment and will be able to train specialists to a level that meets all requirements. At present, the main activity of the teaching staff is to further improve the “quality” of specialists trained in these areas.
