The Central Asian Agricultural Institute was founded in 1930 on the basis of the agricultural faculty of the University of Central Asia. That year, the Faculty of Agronomy was established, and now it prepared leading agricultural specialists in the field of agriculture. In accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 8, 2018, the RP-3704 Faculty of Agronomy was renamed the Faculty of Agrobiology.

In accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 8, 2018, PP-3704 was renamed the Faculty of Plant Protection and Agrochemistry.

 The Department of "Ornamental Horticulture" is organized on the basis of the Department of Forestry and Ecology in the Faculty of Forestry and Medicinal Plants, according to the Decree No. 311 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 3, 2015. Today, professors and teachers of the department conduct lectures and practical classes in special subjects in the direction of undergraduate 5411200 - Decorative gardening and landscaping, in the direction of graduate schools 5A411201 - Gardening of human settlements and landscape design, 5A411202 - Decorative gardening. Graduates who have successfully graduated and received diplomas in the above specialties can work in the field of landscaping and gardening, in the field of forestry, ecology and environmental protection, in the field of gardening roads and railways.
