About the programme

The Master's Programme in Animal Husbandry (70810803) trains highly qualified specialists in the scientific organization and management of livestock production. The programme is oriented toward the breeding and reproduction of farm animals, selection and pedigree work, animal nutrition and care, increasing productivity, and ensuring the efficiency of livestock product production.

Students develop advanced competencies in raising the genetic potential of farm animals; applying modern selection and biotechnological methods; improving the feed base; introducing resource-efficient and innovative technologies; planning production processes; analyzing economic efficiency; and developing strategies for the sustainable growth of livestock sectors. The curriculum spans the principal branches of the field — cattle breeding, poultry farming, sheep and goat husbandry, horse breeding, and other livestock sectors — together with the processing of livestock products.

Throughout the programme, students strengthen their research, analytical, and managerial skills and engage in scientific and innovative activity. Graduates are prepared to work in livestock farms and pedigree enterprises of various forms of ownership, livestock-product processing companies, state and local management bodies, scientific-research institutes, educational institutions, veterinary and zoo-engineering services, and the relevant organizations of the agro-industrial complex.
