About the programme
60111400 – Uzbek Language and Literature. The programme covers the set of professional fields related to mastering the phonetics, lexicology, grammar and stylistics of the Uzbek language, the theory of linguistics, classical and modern Uzbek literature, literary theory, textual criticism and source studies, the culture of speech, and the methodology of teaching the mother tongue and literature. Graduates may work as teachers and lecturers of the mother tongue and literature in general secondary, specialised secondary and vocational education institutions of the continuous education system and in higher education institutions, as researchers at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and sectoral research institutes, as language and documentation specialists in public administration bodies, as editors and proofreaders in publishing houses, as journalists and copy editors in the mass media, and in libraries, museums and cultural institutions.
