About the programme
This master's program specializes in the academic study of Arabic manuscripts, historical documents, and rare written sources. Students gain advanced knowledge of textual criticism, source studies, paleography, codicology, and methodologies for working with historical documents. Throughout the program, they develop practical skills in reading manuscripts, preparing scholarly descriptions, transliteration, producing critical editions of texts, and introducing historical sources into academic research. The curriculum also covers modern research methodologies and digital technologies for the preservation, digitization, and analysis of historical sources.
