Power Engineering

Bachelor’s degree in Energy Engineering is a field focused on the production, conversion, transmission, and efficient use of energy. Students study the fundamentals of electrical engineering, thermodynamics, renewable energy sources, power systems, and energy equipment. A major part of the program is understanding how power plants, electricity grids, heating systems, and gas networks operate, as well as how to improve energy efficiency and reduce losses.

This field is a good fit for people who enjoy physics, mathematics, and technical systems, and who are interested in working in the energy sector, industry, or “green” technologies. Graduates typically work in energy companies, power generation and distribution organizations, engineering and design firms, or continue their studies in a master’s program, especially if they are interested in research or developing new energy technologies.
