Philology and Language Teaching (Arabic Language) (60230100) is a bachelor’s degree program belonging to the field of education “Languages”, aimed at preparing highly qualified and competitive specialists in the fields of philology, linguistics, teaching Arabic language and literature. The educational process is organized in a full-time format based on the credit-module system. The standard duration of the bachelor’s program is 4 years.

Graduates of this program may work as teachers in preschool, general secondary, and professional educational institutions, as well as in private educational centers, and may also work as specialists applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. They can pursue professional activities in the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its regional divisions, the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan and its affiliated institutions; conduct research at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, sectoral research institutes, and libraries; work as expert-textologists at the Manuscripts Center and the Center of Islamic Civilization; provide translation services from Eastern and Western languages in governmental and non-governmental organizations, embassies, consular services, and the tourism sector; work as tourist guides at pilgrimage tourism sites, service personnel at Uzbekistan’s airways, administrative staff, managers, and secretaries in various companies and hotels; as well as work in newspaper and magazine editorial offices, radio, television, and publishing houses.

The professional fields of activity of graduates include:

  • Pedagogical activity: teaching specialized subjects and languages in preschool, general secondary, professional educational institutions, and private educational centers using modern pedagogical and information and communication technologies.
  • Digital philology and Artificial Intelligence: working as specialists applying AI technologies in education and science; processing classical texts using modern artificial intelligence technologies, creating linguistic databases, and conducting digital analysis.
  • Expertise and textology: working as expert-textologists at the Manuscripts Center and the Center of Islamic Civilization; identifying linguistic features of classical sources, manuscripts, and lithographic works, providing their scientific description, editing, and preparation for publication.
  • Research activity: working as junior researchers or research fellows in the Academy of Sciences, research institutes, scientific centers, and libraries, conducting studies in Oriental linguistics, literary studies, and language teaching methodology.
  • Translation and diplomatic services: providing translation services from Eastern (Arabic, Persian) and Western languages in governmental and non-governmental organizations, embassies, and consular institutions; managing documentation and official correspondence.
  • Tourism and service sector: working as tourist guides at pilgrimage tourism sites, service staff at Uzbekistan Airways, administrative employees, managers, and secretaries in various companies, travel organizations, and hotels.
  • Mass media and publishing: carrying out professional activities related to information, media, and editorial work in newspaper and magazine offices, radio, television, and publishing houses.
  • Religious, educational, and administrative activities: working in the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, and their affiliated institutions, as well as in the fields of spiritual and educational activities, organizational management, and consulting services.
