About the programme

The Faculty of Textile Engineering (TMF) is the same age as our institute and was founded in 1932. In the 2005-2006 academic year, the "Mechanical Technology" faculty merged with the "Engineering Pedagogy" faculty to become the "Textile Industry Technology" faculty, and from 2024 it became the "Textile Engineering" faculty. In different years, associate professors I.I. Solovyov, M.A. Polikovsky, F.K. Potapov, L.Y. Efros, S.S. Ibragimov, professor Sh.R. Marasulov, associate professor I.T. Abdurakhimova, Academician H.H. Usmonkhojayev, professor M.M. Mukhamedov, professor M.M. Muqimov, associate professor T.B. Muradov, Ph.D., Professor A.E. Gulamov was in charge. Departments of "Textile Fabric Technology", "Silk and Spinning Technology", "Materials Science and Standardization", "Chemical and Printing Engineering" departments operate within the faculty.

91 professors and teachers of the faculty, including 18 doctors of science, 55 candidates of science, 6 senior teachers and 12 assistants, are providing effective education to the students of the institute. The scientific potential of the faculty is 80%. The faculty joined the International Textile Academy (1995); Became a member of the International Silk Association (1997). Many universities abroad, in particular, Manchester University of Great Britain, Sichuan Institute of Light Industry and Paper Technology of China, Textile Department of Ghent University (Belgium), Piraeus Institute of Technology (Greece), Ivanovo State Textile University (Russia), Moscow Textile University (Russia) ), cooperation with Kostroma University of Technology (Russia), Azerbaijan Institute of Technology is well established. The faculty received a grant from the TASIS-TEMPUS program under the project "Modernization of textile higher education in the market economy" - "Modern-texted". According to him, a number of professors and students of the faculty returned from an exchange of experience at Ghent University in Belgium and Piraeus Institute of Technology in Greece. In 2001, the faculty took a proud 2nd place in the competition held among more than 900 faculties of higher education institutions in the Republic.
