About the programme
The General Medicine direction was opened in 1997. To train general practitioners, students study at clinical departments from the first year. During practical training, they improve their skills in the simulation center and acquire practical skills in using modern simulation equipment. Duration of training – 6 years. Teaching is conducted in Karakalpak, Uzbek, Russian and English. The main objective of the faculty is to train high-level general practitioners. Graduates of the educational direction “General Medicine” have the opportunity to continue their studies in narrow specialties in clinical residency and master’s programs. Graduates of the faculty - general practitioners - work in clinics, rural outpatient clinics and other non-stationary medical institutions, so the faculty has a network of well-equipped clinics, medical departments, ambulance stations and specialized courses for outpatient treatment. Educational bases create conditions for the acquisition of skills in conducting diagnostic tests and therapeutic measures by patients at the prehospital stage.
