I. The content of science
The main goal of teaching science is to teach students the history of communication and information evolution, which is the foundation of today's modern information space and is considered an integral part of human socio-cultural life. Because the concept of information is specific to space and time, and it appears in various forms as a periodic phenomenon. For example, in the former Soviet era, there was a shortage of information, but now, due to the increased flow of information in society, the process of "getting bored" of information, consuming it without analyzing it, has occurred. Understanding, evaluating and forming critical thinking of information received in the global information space.
The purpose of the subject: Mass media and media are specific to the space: to study such concepts as "digital", "computer", "visual", "technological", "communication", "media", "information", "popular culture" and "technocracy". - forms a culture of use for young people, understanding its content, goals and tasks.
As a result of studying science in students:
- the concept of information, communication, evolution and historicity;
- defining the main elements of media and information culture literacy;
- identification of information sources and needs;
- assessment of media literacy and information culture;
- to improve the literacy of information (text) analysis;
- about media literacy against information attacks, threats and other types of security
formation of spiritual and cultural immunity;
- in the use of the Internet and social networks by young people, it should be aimed at learning, not with a feeling of dependence;
- to determine the methods of using media literacy and information culture in pedagogical activities in the future activity;
- ensuring national information security and forming ideological immunity.
Advanced of leading countries in the field of media literacy and information culture
consists of forming theoretical and practical knowledge, skills and qualifications for the popularization of experiences. The curriculum of the subject "Media Literacy and Information Culture" was analyzed and developed based on the experiences of the University of Massachusetts, Cambridge and the Finnish educational sector.
II. The main theoretical part (lecture sessions) II.I. The subject includes the following topics:
Topic 1. Evolution and importance of media literacy and information culture in society (2 hours) Evolution and dialectics of the concept of media literacy and information culture.
The unity and uniqueness of the concept of communication and information. The role, importance and spiritual need of communication and information in human life. Media literacy and information culture as a communicative event and methods of use. A letter is the first form of information exchange. Mail, newspaper, telegraph, magazine and radio information
