About the programme
60411700 – "Islamic Economics and Finance" is a bachelor's degree program aimed at preparing competitive, highly qualified professionals with modern knowledge and practical skills for the field of Islamic economics and finance in our country. The educational process is organized in accordance with the credit-module system in a full-time mode of study, and the standard duration of the bachelor's program is 4 years.
During the course of study, students receive in-depth instruction in economic theory, microeconomics and macroeconomics, finance, financial accounting, economic analysis, econometrics, the Arabic language, Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), fundamentals of Islamic economics, Islamic finance, Islamic banking, Islamic accounting, financial management, waqf management, and other fundamental and specialized disciplines. These subjects enable students to develop the ability to analyze economic processes, make sound financial decisions, and effectively apply financial instruments in compliance with Shariah principles.
Graduates of this program will be qualified to work in government institutions related to Islamic economics and finance, commercial banks, Islamic banks and Islamic banking service units (Islamic windows), non-bank credit institutions, microfinance and insurance companies, investment and leasing companies, international financial institutions, consulting and auditing firms, research institutions, and other organizations operating in the financial and economic sectors.
Within the program, students study the economic foundations and practical application of Islamic financial instruments, including Murabaha, Mudarabah, Musharakah, Ijarah, Salam, Istisna, Sukuk, Takaful, Waqf, and Zakat. They acquire comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in applying these instruments, assessing and managing financial risks, developing investment projects, analyzing financial statements, and effectively utilizing digital technologies and information systems. In addition, students develop competencies in applying international Islamic finance standards, including those issued by AAOIFI (Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions) and the IFSB (Islamic Financial Services Board), conducting research activities, and using modern information and communication technologies.
Graduates who successfully complete this program are awarded the qualification of Economist and Finance Specialist. They are well prepared to contribute to the development of the Islamic finance industry, provide Shariah-compliant financial services, organize investment and entrepreneurial activities, perform financial analysis and management, and, after completing pedagogical retraining where required, teach in professional and higher education institutions.
