Conducting: conducting an academic choir

The purpose of the main subject “The Art of Academic Choral Conducting” is to prepare the student for professional activity within the framework of 4 years of education through the synthesis of all the professional characteristics (performer, choirmaster and
pedagogue) of the future choir conductor.
To develop the skills of critical analysis of the process of performing a musical work, comparative analysis of various performing interpretations, and composition based on the integrity and dramaturgy of the work. To develop the ability to independently formulate the repertoire strategy of the choir, to acquire organizational skills and qualifications.
The task of the subject is to master the technical and performing skills of conducting.
To teach the student to correctly apply the knowledge gained from a pedagogical point of view, to independently plan the educational process, to creatively approach the solution of key issues, to work with special literature in the field of musical art and science, and to use professional concepts and terms. To develop the skills of working independently on the score of a work. To master a program based on the works of Western and Eastern European, Central Asian composers and modern classical works.
