About the programme

This academic program is designed to provide students with in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical skills in cinematography and television camera work. The curriculum includes image composition, working with light and color, camera movement, visual dramaturgy, genre characteristics in film and television, and the fundamentals of creative collaboration with directors.

Students participate in real filming processes, learn to operate modern technical equipment, control camera movement, design lighting, and convey meaning through visuals.

Graduates of this program can work as highly qualified cinematographers for film and television productions.

Curriculum structure:

  • Theory and practice: 105 weeks (semesters 1–7)

  • Practical training: 15 weeks (semesters 2, 4, 6, 8)

  • Assessment weeks: 14 weeks (semesters 1–7)

  • Final state attestation: 4 weeks (semester 8)

  • Holidays: 54 weeks

  • Total: 240 credits

Notes:

  • 1 credit = 30 academic hours

  • GPA is determined in the third week of August

  • “Photo Composition” – 6 modules

  • “Cinematographic Mastery” – 7 modules

  • “Film Composition” – 6 modules

  • “Editing” – 7 modules

  • Course blocks may vary by 5–10%

  • Classes held individually (1–4), in small groups (2–12), regular (13–25), or combined (up to 100)

  • Practices and labs are held at universities and partner institutions

  • Final certification includes defense of the diploma

  • “Physical Education and Sports” is an elective subject
