Additional information about the department

Highly qualified specialists were needed for the construction and repair of new settlements and national economies. In 1923, the Central Asian State University was founded. In 1929, the Central Asian Cotton-Growing Irrigation Polytechnic Institute was separated. It included the faculties of "Mechanics", "Water Management", Agro-cotton Growing, "Collective Farming and State Farming" and "Construction". G. Svarichevsky's services in the creation of the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Civil Engineering are of great importance. By 1931, the Central Asian Civil Engineering Institute had its own departments of "Engineering Construction", "Sanitary Engineering" and "Architecture".

The Faculty of Architecture had 3 departments, 1 of which was the Department of "Architectural Design". The head of the department was Kolotov S.M. He made great contributions to the training of several architectural specialists. In 1949, in connection with the opening of new departments, the Central Asian Civil Engineering Institute was transformed into the new Central Asian Polytechnic Institute.

Since 1961, the Central Asian Polytechnic Institute has been transformed into the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute (TashPI). The Department of "Architectural Design" was headed by the People's Architect of the USSR, Professor Bobokhonov A.B. headed by Bobokhonov A.B., a number of outstanding specialists were hired under the leadership of Bobokhonov A.B.: associate professor Karash L.G., associate professor Kolomensky V.N., associate professor Garamov Yu.M., associate professor Duranovskaya Ye.I., etc. Over time, the department of "Architectural Design" was divided into the department of "Design of Residential Buildings" (prof. Babievsky K.V., Kolomensky V.N., Korobovsev G.I., associate professor Asomov R.J.), the department of "Design of Public Buildings and Interiors" (prof. Babakhonov A.B., prof. Hidoyatov T.A.), the department of "Design of Industrial Buildings" (Boymukhamedov B.A.). In 1991, the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Construction was established, the department was renamed "Architectural Design" and prof. Ubaydullaev Kh.M. was appointed to the department. By 2002, prof. Hidoyatov became the head of the department. T.A. In 2005, the department was renamed "Architecture and Urban Planning" by prof. Latipov D.V., from April 2006, assoc. prof. Tursunov S.T. Since 2007, prof. Ubaydullaev X.M. has been working as the head of the department. Since 2009, the department was renamed "Architectural Design". 2011-2012 Mansurov Y.M. 2012-2015 Yunusov Sh.H. 2015-2016 Reyimbayev Sh.S. 2016-2017 Yunusov Sh.H. From January 2018 to April 2024, the department was headed by (PhD). Assoc. Prof. Hasanov A.O. Since May 2024, assoc. prof. Masharipova S.A. has been heading it.
