The undergraduate program in Native Language and Literature (Russian Language and Literature) introduces students to both the theoretical and practical foundations of Russian language, literature, and culture. This program combines philological and pedagogical training, providing students with comprehensive knowledge of teaching methods for Russian language and literature, effective organization of educational processes, and the integration of innovative technologies in teaching.

The curriculum follows a 4+2 system, where students spend four days per week acquiring theoretical knowledge and two days engaged in practical teaching at general education schools. This approach allows students to experience all stages of the teaching profession firsthand, preparing them for future pedagogical activity.

Educational Objectives

• Educational: Deep study of core sections of Russian language and literature, including phonetics, lexicology, morphology, syntax, stylistics, and literary studies. Development of skills in analyzing language and literature materials, applying theoretical knowledge in practice, mastering teaching methodologies, using modern educational technologies, and working with dictionaries, reference books, and literary texts.
• Developmental: Enhancement of oral and written communication, clarity of expression, independent thinking, analytical and creative skills, professional reflection, and cognitive abilities such as memory, attention, and reasoning. Strengthening pedagogical communication, classroom management, and overall communicative competence.
• Ethical and Cultural: Cultivation of respect for the native language, Russian language and literature, national and world culture. Development of moral values, aesthetic taste, and ethical conduct. • Conceptual: Understanding language as an expression of national culture and thought. Analyzing Russian literary works to develop aesthetic perception and critical thinking. Explaining the educational and cultural significance of language and literature in human communication.
• Practical Skills: Text analysis, identification of main ideas and literary images, interpretation, expressive reading, accurate written communication, and mastery of spelling and punctuation. Preparation of teaching materials, lesson plans, and assessments for Russian language and literature classes. Evaluation and development of students’ linguistic abilities during teaching practice. Effective use of digital technologies, electronic textbooks, and multimedia tools in education.
