La Facultad de Agronegocios y Economía Digital fue fundada en 1991 como Facultad de Economía. Inicialmente contaba con departamentos de economía agrícola, gestión agrícola y economía política. Posteriormente se añadieron nuevos departamentos, incluido contabilidad y auditoría.

La Facultad de Agroingeniería e Hidromelioración está estrechamente vinculada con la historia del instituto. Fue fundada en 1960 en Andiyán como filial de un instituto de Tashkent. En 1964 el Instituto Algodonero de Andiyán incluía facultades de mecanización agrícola e hidromelioración. En 1997 se unificaron y desde el 29 de agosto de 2020 funciona con su nombre actual.

Logros

Más de 20.000 especialistas altamente cualificados se han graduado y trabajan en los sectores agrícola y de recursos hídricos en Uzbekistán y en el extranjero.

Programas

Más de 600 estudiantes estudian en: Mecanización agrícola, educación profesional, gestión del agua, energía, automatización, hidráulica, servicio técnico, mecanización de obras de riego y drenaje, catastro y gestión de tierras.

Tres departamentos especializados cuentan con 89 docentes, incluidos 8 doctores y 33 candidatos en ciencias.

Cooperación

Los estudiantes ganan becas estatales y concursos. La facultad coopera con universidades del Reino Unido, Italia, Bélgica, Países Bajos, Alemania, Canadá, Corea, Rusia, Kazajistán y Kirguistán.

On November 3, 2015, in accordance with Resolution No. 311 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Faculty of “Plant Protection and Fruit and Vegetable Growing”, which separated from the Faculty of Agronomy, was established as an independent faculty. Associate Professor Z. Bo‘stonov headed the faculty.

Based on Resolution No. 220 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 7, 2017, the Faculty of “Plant Protection and Agrochemistry” was established. Five departments were incorporated into the faculty structure.

Four of them are specialized departments:

  • Plant Protection (by Crop Types) (Plant Protection and Quarantine),

  • Quarantine of Agricultural Products,

  • Agrochemistry and Soil Science,

  • Cultivation and Processing Technology of Medicinal Plants.

The departments employed 5 Doctors of Science (Professors), 18 Candidates of Science (Associate Professors), 11 Senior Lecturers, and 5 technical staff members — a total of 39 faculty and staff. The faculty enrolled 725 students.

The following served as Deans of the Faculty:

  • PhD in Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor M. Atajanov (2017–2018),

  • PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor I. Mamajonov (2018–2019),

  • PhD in Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor U. Isashova (2019–2021),

  • PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor M. Xalilov (2021–2023),

  • D. G‘aniyev (2023–2024).

Currently, the Dean of the Faculty is PhD in Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor S.R. Xatamov.

Practical training предусмотрed by the curriculum — including academic, industrial (entomology, phytopathology, agrochemistry), and pedagogical internships — is conducted in agricultural enterprises, quarantine inspections, agricultural departments, clusters, and agrochemical laboratories of the Fergana Valley regions.

Research papers of faculty members and students are published in the newspaper “Andijon Yoshlar”, various academic collections, and proceedings of national and international conferences. Members of student scientific clubs regularly become recipients of prestigious scholarships and winners of competitions.

The faculty has established international cooperation. Under agreements with foreign partners, students undertake internships at foreign higher education institutions and research institutes in agriculture, including:

  • “AZ-Germany Consulting” (12 students in 2019; 20 in 2020),

  • “Ge-Tec Solutions” (1 in 2019; 5 in 2020),

  • “LOGO e.V.” (8 in 2020),

  • “FerienJob” (12 in 2020).

La Facultad de Agrobiología fue establecida en 2018 sobre la base de la Facultad de Agronomía fundada en 1964. El decano actual es I. Tursunov.

Qobiljon G‘afurovich Obidov

Qobiljon G‘afurovich Obidov is an experienced statesman born in the Andijan region who, throughout his many years of professional activity, effectively served in major governmental and economic management positions at the republican level. He was born on April 20, 1951, in the Qo‘rg‘ontepa district of Andijan region. In 1972, he graduated from the Faculty of Hydromelioration of the Andijan Cotton Institute and began his career in the water management system. During his professional career, he held various responsible positions in the fields of construction and land reclamation, later advancing to leadership roles at district and regional levels. From 1988 to 1992, he headed Marhamat district; from 1992 to 1993, he served as Mayor (Hokim) of Andijan city; and in 1993–1996 and 1997–2004, he worked as Governor (Hokim) of Andijan region. In 1996–1997, he served as the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan. During his leadership, large-scale measures were implemented to increase agricultural efficiency, introduce new agrotechnologies, develop industry and infrastructure, and improve the living standards of the population. In particular, the introduction of advanced technologies in the agricultural sector contributed to increased crop yields. In 1995, he was awarded the “Mehnat Shuhrati” (Labor Glory) Order. In 1998, for his significant contribution to the country’s development, he was awarded the title “Hero of Uzbekistan” along with the “Gold Star” medal. His extensive managerial experience, initiatives aimed at comprehensive regional development, and public service have played an important role in the socio-economic development of Uzbekistan.

Abdurakhmanov Shukhratbek Kushakbaevich

Abdurakhmanov Shukhratbek Kushakbaevich was born in 1969 in Andijan region. In 1992, he graduated from the Andijan Institute of Cotton Growing with a degree in Agronomy. He began his professional career in 1992 as the head agronomist-entomologist of the 5th department of the “Madaniyat” agrofirm. Later, he worked as the head of a cotton-growing brigade at the “Navbahor” company. In 1994, he was appointed Chief Agronomist of the “Madaniyat” agrofirm. In 1999, he became Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources. In 2000, he was elected Chairman of the “Navbahor” company. In 2001, he served as First Deputy Hokim (Governor) of Pakhtaabad District of Andijan region, as well as Head of the District Department of Agriculture and Water Resources. In 2004, he was appointed Hokim of Pakhtaabad District, Andijan region. Since 2011, he has served as Deputy Hokim of Andijan region and Head of the Regional Department of Agriculture and Water Resources. On April 26, 2013, by the decree of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, he was appointed Hokim (Governor) of Andijan region. Since 2013, he has been a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and a deputy of the Andijan Regional Council of People’s Deputies.

Komilov Komiljon Sobirovich

Komiljon Sobirovich Komilov es el vicegobernador de la región de Andiján encargado de la política juvenil, el desarrollo social y el trabajo espiritual-educativo. Es responsable de coordinar el trabajo con los jóvenes, desarrollar el sector social, mejorar el sistema educativo y organizar las actividades espirituales y educativas en la región. Komiljon Komilov nació en 1980 en el distrito de Oltinkol de la región de Andiján. En el año 2000 se graduó en el Instituto Agrícola de Andiján, obteniendo educación superior en el ámbito agrario. Estudió agronomía como especialidad y posteriormente se dedicó a actividades científicas y pedagógicas. En el verano de 2020, sobre la base de esta filial, se creó el Instituto de Agricultura y Agrotecnologías de Andiján. La experiencia organizativa y administrativa de Komiljon Komilov desempeñó un papel importante en la formación de esta institución de educación superior como instituto independiente. En febrero de 2021 fue nombrado rector del instituto y llevó a cabo amplios trabajos para el desarrollo de la institución, la apertura de nuevos programas académicos, la ampliación de la cooperación internacional y el fortalecimiento de la investigación científica. Se implementaron iniciativas como la introducción del sistema de créditos y módulos, el desarrollo de plataformas educativas digitales y el apoyo a jóvenes científicos.

Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies is greeting Andijan Institute of Agriculture and Agro-technologies in the 60 anniversary. We are currently jointly implementing higher education development project OFINU, financed by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. It aims to promote the availability of specialists necessary for the growth of the Uzbekistan national economy by introducing a new form of study and improving study processes and ensure that their knowledge and skills meet the needs of economic sectors. The joint work on the project will continue until 2027, and we hope that the ongoing cooperation and results will transform into new initiatives.
