Tribute to the participants of the events in Afghanistan.
The 37th anniversary of the end of military operations against international terrorism and religious extremism in Afghanistan was commemorated in a spirit of remembrance and respect.
On this occasion, commemorative events were held in our region with the participation of representatives of various organizations and institutions. In particular, representatives of the leadership of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University, veterans, faculty members, and students gathered at the Memorial Park and laid wreaths at the foot of the “Grieving Mother” monument.
During the event, the memory of our compatriots who lost their lives in the Afghan war was honored with a minute of silence.
For reference, it should be noted that 1,956 individuals from the Jizzakh region participated in the Afghan war. Of them, 35 were killed, and 210 returned with disabilities.
The courage and devotion of our heroic compatriots will forever remain in the memory of our people.
