Currently, the number of World War II participants and veterans equated to them in Uzbekistan is 82. The oldest among them is now 114 years old. In Fergana region, there are 6 World War II veterans.
For reference, Uzbekistan made a significant contribution to the victory in the war. At that time, the population of the republic was 6.5 million, of which more than 1 million 951 thousand people were sent to the front. Of these, 538 thousand were killed in battle.
In the country, 280 new enterprises were built, and military production was established. Additionally, Uzbekistan took in more than 1.5 million evacuees, including 250 thousand orphans.
