MALAYSIA – UZBEKISTAN: THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL WOMEN SCIENTISTS’ FORUM WAS HELD
On April 8–9 of this year, in the city of Melaka, Malaysia, the “Malaysia – Uzbekistan: First International Women Scientists’ Forum” was organized through the cooperation of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Science and Education of Malaysia, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia, Bukhara State Technical University, and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka.
The forum was ceremonially opened with the national anthems of both countries. Opening speeches were delivered by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia Karomiddin Gadoyev, the Director-General of Higher Education of Malaysia Azlinda binti Azman, and the Governor of Melaka State Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam, who highlighted the current state and future prospects of scientific and educational cooperation between the two countries.
The forum was also opened by Sadoqat Siddikova, who emphasized the role of women scientists in the development of science, their innovative ideas, and their importance in expanding international cooperation.
Within the framework of the forum, a large-scale business forum as well as “Uzbekistan – Malaysia” exhibitions in science, education, and culture were organized. These platforms enabled higher education institutions from various regions to widely present their scientific potential, innovative developments, and educational opportunities to the Malaysian audience.
The exhibitions showcased colorful displays reflecting the rich historical heritage, national values, and unique culture of both countries, as well as thematic stands organized using modern approaches. These exhibitions attracted significant interest from participants and contributed to strengthening not only scientific and educational ties but also cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
The forum was actively attended by rectors, vice-rectors, and delegations of higher education institutions from Uzbekistan and Malaysia. Around 30 important agreements were reached during the event, aimed at elevating bilateral cooperation to a new level.
In particular, Bukhara State Technical University signed cooperation agreements with Sultan Idris Education University, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka.
These agreements are of great importance for experience exchange in higher education, joint scientific research, development of academic mobility, and implementation of modern educational programs.
The forum was recognized as an important international platform marking a new stage in cooperation between the two countries in science, education, and innovation.
