Issues of transforming the higher education system were discussed in Samarkand.
On March 15, 2026, a meeting with the participation of rectors of higher education institutions of the republic was held at Samarkand State University of Architecture and Construction. During the meeting, the draft Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Measures for the Fundamental Transformation of the Higher Education, Science and Innovation System” was discussed. The Rector of Bukhara State Technical University, Sadoqat Siddiqova, participated in this meeting.
At the meeting, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Ilhom Sirojev, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov, as well as sector leaders spoke about the strategic importance of the draft decree.
During the meeting, issues related to improving the management of higher education, developing the quality of education based on international standards, and integrating science and innovation with production were discussed.
