During his speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the importance of training national personnel for the development of nuclear energy and particularly emphasized the role
The head of state noted that one of the first steps in developing the country's nuclear energy sector was the establishment of a branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI in Tashkent. "The first thing I asked Vladimir Vladimirovich to do was open a branch of MEPhI. Before we say anything, we need to prepare the personnel... When we opened the branch, we unlocked all the necessary competencies and established scientific research. Today, 300 students are studying at the branch, and 150 have already graduated. We have reached an agreement with MEPhI University in Moscow, where 400 students from Uzbekistan are studying. We are paying serious attention to this. The scientific foundation is already in place!" The President's high praise is recognition of the contribution of the Tashkent branch of MEPhI to the training of highly qualified engineering and scientific personnel for Uzbekistan's energy sector. Today, the branch continues to develop world-class educational programs, scientific research, and international cooperation, building human resources for the implementation of large-scale projects in the fields of nuclear energy and high technology.
