BRGM State Institution Delegation Visited the University of Geological Sciences with the Participation of the French Ambassador to Uzbekistan

A delegation from one of France’s leading public scientific institutions — BRGM (Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières) — paid an official visit to the University of Geological Sciences.

During the visit, discussions were held on establishing cooperation between the University of Geological Sciences and BRGM, as well as on future prospects for collaboration in scientific research, geology, geocartography, and professional training.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Walid Fouque, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Republic of Uzbekistan; Frezo Olive, Director of the Geography Division of BRGM and Regional Director for Asia; and Thomas Fullgraf, geological cartographer at BRGM.

The negotiations resulted in significant agreements on strengthening bilateral scientific cooperation, exchanging expertise, and implementing joint projects.

In addition, several scientific and practical seminars and discussions were organized on topics including mineral resource geology, technical and economic aspects of geological exploration, extraction and processing of mineral resources, mine closure, and post-closure management.

The visit was regarded as an important step toward further strengthening scientific and educational cooperation between Uzbekistan and France.
