HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSITY

Termez State University of Engineering and Agrotechnologies is the legal and academic successor of the Termez Branch of Islam Karimov Tashkent State Technical University, established in accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-3101 dated June 29, 2017, “On Measures for Organizing the Activities of the Termez Branch of Islam Karimov Tashkent State Technical University.”

In accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-30 dated December 3, 2021, “On Measures for Organizing the Activities of the Termez Institute of Engineering and Technology,” the branch was transformed into the Termez Institute of Engineering and Technology. Subsequently, based on the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-265 dated July 18, 2024, “On Measures for Establishing the Termez State University of Engineering and Agrotechnologies,” the Termez State University of Engineering and Agrotechnologies was established on the basis of the Termez Institute of Engineering and Technology and the Termez Institute of Agrotechnologies and Innovative Development.

At present, the university functions as a major academic center carrying out modern educational and scientific activities in the fields of engineering, energy, agrotechnologies, veterinary medicine, transport, construction, and economics.

EDUCATION

The educational process at the university is organized on the basis of a credit-module system, modern pedagogical approaches, and international academic standards. Academic programs are developed in accordance with national qualification requirements and international educational criteria, with particular emphasis placed on integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application.

At Termez State University of Engineering and Agrotechnologies, specialists are trained through bachelor’s, master’s, and research programs. Modern laboratories and practical training sessions have been established in such priority areas as energy, electrical engineering, agroengineering, chemical technologies, transport, veterinary medicine, forestry, and other fields.

INFORMATION AND RESOURCE CENTER

The Information and Resource Center has been established as an important infrastructure supporting the university’s educational and scientific activities. Its collection includes a wide range of academic and scientific literature covering various fields of study. The фонд consists of textbooks, учебные пособия, fiction literature, and other types of publications that ensure the effective organization of all stages of the educational process.

A significant part of the collection is made up of specialized literature directly adapted to educational programs and academic disciplines. The availability of literature designated as core resources in academic curricula provides a strong foundation for the high-quality organization of the academic process. At the same time, systematic work is being carried out to gradually update the collection and align it with modern requirements.

Alongside traditional printed materials, the center is actively developing digital resources. Through the electronic library platform, users are provided with remote access to various educational and scientific materials. This contributes to ensuring the continuity of the educational process and strengthening adaptation to the modern information environment.

The Information and Resource Center is open to students, faculty members, master’s degree students, and administrative staff, meeting their academic and professional needs. The center’s activities are aimed at creating favorable conditions for acquiring knowledge, conducting scientific research, and developing intellectual potential.

SOCIAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES AT THE UNIVERSITY

Various clubs and extracurricular groups operate at the university with the aim of organizing students’ free time meaningfully and developing their intellectual and creative potential. In particular, training courses in English language and engineering graphics, sports and wellness centers, as well as practical sessions focused on strengthening professional skills are organized on a regular basis.

Within the framework of initiatives aimed at enhancing students’ spiritual, educational, social, and political awareness, intellectual games such as “Zakovat,” events promoting the effective use of computer technologies and the internet, literature, art and culture months, student concert programs, and charitable activities are regularly held. In addition, creative projects and events in the fields of painting, literature, theater, and other forms of art contribute to the development of students’ aesthetic taste and social activity.

The university’s student dormitory provides all necessary living conditions, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for students. In addition, the university operates a hotel for professors, instructors, and specialists visiting from leading higher educational institutions of the country and from abroad, which contributes to the expansion of academic cooperation and the effective exchange of experience.

EDUCATIONAL PROCESS

Language Preparation and Visa Support for International Students

Termiz State University of Engineering and Agrotechnologies places special emphasis on creating a comfortable, adaptive, and supportive educational environment for international students. To facilitate the academic and socio-cultural adaptation of foreign citizens, the University offers language preparation programs and comprehensive visa support services.

Language Courses for International Students

The University provides free Uzbek language courses for international students. These courses are conducted over a one-year period and are designed to help students adapt to the academic environment while developing the communication skills necessary for everyday life in Uzbekistan.

The language courses are organized in parallel with the main academic program. This allows international students to study the Uzbek language while simultaneously attending first-year classes in their chosen field of study. As a result, by the end of the academic year, students successfully complete both the language preparation program and the first year of their academic studies.

In addition, considering that certain academic programs are delivered in Russian and English, preparatory courses in Russian or English are also available for foreign applicants and students. These courses are offered on a contractual (fee-paying) basis.

Visa Support Procedures for International Students

The University provides international students with comprehensive visa support services throughout the process of coming to Uzbekistan for their studies.

1. Issuance of an Official Invitation Letter

After an international student has been admitted to the University, an official Invitation Letter is prepared by the University. This document is processed through the electronic system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The invitation letter includes the student’s personal information, passport details, field of study, and duration of education.

2. Obtaining Visa Approval

Upon reviewing the submitted documents, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues a special visa approval number (Visa Approval / Telex Number). This number is forwarded to the Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Uzbekistan where the student intends to apply for a visa.

3. Obtaining a Visa through an Embassy or Consulate

The student must submit the following documents to the Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Uzbekistan in their home country:

• A passport valid for at least six months;
• An official invitation letter or visa approval number;
• A completed visa application form;
• Passport-size photographs;
• A receipt confirming payment of the visa fee.

In most cases, a student visa (Category “S” Visa) is issued within 7–10 working days.

4. Procedures after Arrival in Uzbekistan

After entering the Republic of Uzbekistan, international students must complete temporary registration within the legally established period. The relevant University departments provide practical assistance throughout this process.

The University also offers consultation and organizational support regarding the extension of student visas for the entire duration of study.

Additional Information

• The visa processing period usually takes between 2 and 4 weeks.
• In certain cases, citizens of countries where the Republic of Uzbekistan does not have a diplomatic mission may be eligible to obtain a visa upon arrival at Tashkent International Airport.

International Activities of Termiz State University of Engineering and Agrotechnologies

Termiz State University of Engineering and Agrotechnologies (TSUEA) actively develops international cooperation with foreign higher education institutions and research organizations in order to enhance the quality of education in line with international standards, promote science and innovation, introduce modern educational technologies, and expand academic mobility.

Effective cooperation has also been established with Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia in the areas of academic mobility, joint research projects, international conferences, and scientific publications.

Negotiations are currently underway with Saint Petersburg State Agrarian University (Russia) to strengthen scientific cooperation in agronomy, soil science, plant breeding, and agrotechnologies, as well as to develop joint educational programs.

Language Education and Linguistic Support System

To ensure the effective integration of international students into the educational process, their rapid adaptation to the academic environment, and their ability to communicate confidently in everyday life, the university has established specialized Uzbek language courses. These courses are organized in a progressive format (beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels) and are designed to comprehensively develop students’ reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
