Tashkent University of Economics and Technology

The Faculty of Economics of Tashkent University of Economics and Technologies was established in 2022 as the “Economics” academic field. In 2023, this field was reorganized into an independent Faculty of Economics. Since 2023, the faculty has been headed by the Dean, J.O. Kucharov.

Since its establishment, the faculty has been developing dynamically and making a significant contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists. Leading professors and academic staff with strong scientific and pedagogical backgrounds have played an important role in the formation and development of the faculty.

Taking into account the modern requirements of the economy and labor market demands, the faculty provides education in the Bachelor's degree programs in Economics and Banking, as well as the Master's degree program in Economics. The faculty prepares qualified specialists capable of meeting the needs of various sectors of the national economy in accordance with international standards.

The faculty successfully integrates education, science, and industry. The academic staff, including B. Djurayev, J.O. Kucharov, R. Khakimov, Z. Qayumova, M. Nazarova, and other experienced professors and lecturers, actively contribute to educational, scientific, and methodological activities.

The Faculty of Economics actively develops international cooperation. Partnership relations have been established with Obuda University (Hungary) and Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (Türkiye). Within the framework of this cooperation, academic staff participate in international internships, PhD students are involved in exchange programs, and master's students have opportunities for international academic collaboration.

The faculty contributes to the development of the national economy by conducting scientific research in key areas such as economic digitalization, food security, implementation of the green economy, and development of the bioeconomy.

As part of the ongoing transformation of the educational process, the faculty introduces modern academic programs aligned with international standards, develops contemporary teaching materials, and strengthens cooperation with the global scientific community.

The Faculty of Social Sciences was established on November 22, 2023, based on decision No. 3 of the University Council, creating the Social Sciences direction, and began its activities.

In the 2025–2026 academic year, the faculty conducts educational, scientific, methodological, moral-educational, and upbringing work according to a defined plan. The faculty offers Bachelor’s programs in full-time, evening, and part-time forms:

The weekly workload is 24 hours for full-time, 20 hours for evening, and 24 hours for part-time. Full-time education is organized in one shift, part-time in two shifts.

The faculty has the Department of Social Sciences. In the 2025–2026 academic year, the department’s total workload is 16,936 hours, including 9,034 classroom hours. The department has 16 staff units, with a scientific capacity of 75%.

The faculty enrolls 1,118 students, including 207 full-time and 39 evening students. The department employs 16 academic staff, 12 with scientific degrees and 4 with master’s degrees. The department’s scientific capacity is 75%.

Faculty publications have been published in Turkey, Estonia, Russia, the USA, Poland, and other countries.

The faculty maintains partnerships with leading universities in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.

The Faculty of Financial Management and Information Technologies began its activities on January 26, 2024, based on decision No. 6 of the University Council for the 2023–2024 academic year, having separated from the Faculty of Economics.

The faculty offers Bachelor’s programs in full-time, evening, and part-time forms:

• 60610500 – Computer Engineering (“IT Service,” “Information Security,” “Multimedia Technologies”)

• 60610300 – Information Security (Information and Communication Technologies and Service)

• 60410500 – Finance and Financial Technologies

The Department of Financial Management and Information Technologies has 9 academic staff: 4 with scientific degrees (2 full-time positions) and 5 with master’s degrees (5 full-time positions). The department’s scientific capacity is 44 %.

The faculty effectively integrates science, education, and practice, achieving excellent results in training highly qualified specialists. Key faculty members include I. Yuldasheva, K. Khatamov, I. Navruzov, B. Elboyev, and other experienced educators.

During the independence period, the faculty has made a significant contribution to various reforms. The faculty conducts research in digitalization of accounting, financial management, and information technology. In the transformation process, modern teaching materials were developed, curricula aligned with international standards were implemented, and cooperation with the international scientific community was expanded.
