About the university
The Management Development Institute of Singapore in Tashkent (MDIS Tashkent) is the first international institute established in Uzbekistan, founded in 2007 through cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Singapore. The institute was established by the Uzbekistan Banking Association in accordance with a Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. MDIS Tashkent is the official representative of the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS), Singapore’s oldest not-for-profit professional institute for lifelong learning, founded in 1956.
Today, MDIS Tashkent educates more than 4,500 students from all regions of Uzbekistan as well as from a number of foreign countries. Its international learning environment promotes intercultural communication and prepares highly qualified graduates for the global job market.
All programmes are delivered entirely in English, including Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes, in collaboration with leading universities in the United Kingdom. Graduates receive internationally recognised British degrees accepted in the UK and many other countries.
Teaching is supported by modern digital learning platforms, including Blackboard, CANVAS, and Moodle, providing students with continuous access to learning materials, assessments, academic resources, and communication with lecturers.
Students also have the opportunity to prepare for internationally recognised English language qualifications through regular IELTS-format internal examinations.
In 2015, MDIST Tashkent became the first higher education institution in Uzbekistan to receive the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Certificate, demonstrating its commitment to international academic standards, continuous improvement, and quality assurance.
The institute occupies a campus of more than five hectares and features modern educational facilities, including lecture halls, computer and specialised laboratories, a four-storey library with coworking spaces for learning and independent study, a business incubator, a career centre, a tourism and hospitality training laboratory, a financial laboratory, a fashion design laboratory, a medical centre, as well as a sports complex with an indoor swimming pool, a modern gym, a football field, a tennis court, volleyball and basketball halls, and other sports facilities.
For international students
MDIS Tashkent delivers its academic programmes in partnership with leading UK universities, including the University of Sunderland and Teesside University, providing students with internationally recognised British degrees.
The institute maintains close cooperation with the main MDIS campus in Singapore through academic exchanges, staff development programmes, and joint educational initiatives.
In addition, MDIS Tashkent actively collaborates with international universities, government organisations, and industry partners, implementing joint research projects, academic mobility programmes, startup initiatives, international conferences, hackathons, and professional internship opportunities.

English Plus and English Advanced develop the academic English proficiency students need for university-level study. The modules strengthen reading, writing, listening, speaking, independent learning, and research skills.
Communication Skills prepares students for professional and academic environments by developing effective presentation, public speaking, interview, business writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
Professional English Preparation
The School also supports English language development through programmes aligned with international standards and recognised assessment formats, helping learners strengthen their language proficiency and prepare for further academic study.
