     The University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan is a modern and rapidly developing educational center, established on May 24, 2018, by decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The institution operates under the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and aims to train highly qualified specialists in journalism and the media field.

Educational Programs and Directions
The university offers a wide range of educational programs at the bachelor's, master's, and part-time levels. The main areas of study include international journalism, internet journalism, television and radio journalism, print and mass media journalism, sports journalism, and military journalism. In addition to journalists, the university trains specialists in media design, media marketing, PR management, and staff for information services and communication departments.

Structure and Academic Process
The educational process is organized through four faculties and nine departments staffed by highly qualified professors and researchers. The university employs 208 teaching staff members, including 4 professors, 24 associate professors, 4 doctors of science, 12 candidates of science, and 13 PhDs. This academic strength ensures students receive in-depth theoretical knowledge and extensive practical training.

Modern Facilities
The university is equipped with all necessary resources for effective learning and creative development. These include an Information Resource Center, Information Technology Center, Museum of Journalism History, modern TV and radio studios, a photo laboratory, and a student press club designed as a co-working space. These facilities provide unique opportunities for students to practice and realize their creative potential.

International Cooperation and Prospects
The University actively develops international partnerships with leading universities and research centers worldwide, offering students opportunities to participate in exchange programs, international conferences, and internships.

Student Life
Currently, more than 4,700 students study at the university, united by a common goal—to become professionals in the media industry capable of thriving in the modern digital era.

    Uzbekistan University of Journalism and Mass Communications (hereinafter – UJMCU) provides comprehensive support to all international students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate (master's), and doctoral programs (hereinafter – international students), regardless of their citizenship or current immigration status.

    International students admitted to UJMCU can benefit from opportunities for study, research, or travel during summer and winter breaks. Additionally, graduates of the university may conduct scientific research as part of their doctoral dissertation work.

Admitted international students receive full support with visa documentation, preparation of recommendation letters, as well as entry and stay procedures in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In addition to offering places in university dormitories, students wishing to live off-campus are assisted in finding rental accommodation.

International students also have the opportunity to explore Uzbek culture and participate in travel programs to historical and cultural cities of the country.

All UJMCU students, including international students, are eligible to participate in academic, research, and exchange programs organized jointly with UJMCU’s foreign partner universities. Doctoral students may also engage in academic programs with research purposes at leading universities around the world.

Special Uzbek language courses are organized at all faculties of UJMCU. These courses are taught by more than ten experienced instructors.

As of today, the Uzbekistan University of Journalism and Mass Communications (UJMCU) has established partnerships with 40 foreign higher education institutions and organizations.

As part of international cooperation, in 2024, agreements were signed with 15 foreign universities and 3 international organizations.

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, provided practical assistance in equipping a professional television studio at our university, in accordance with modern standards.

In this TV studio, under the guidance of professionals, students aspiring to become news anchors and sports commentators, as well as future lighting specialists, sound engineers, editors, and others, undergo hands-on training. Outstanding students are given the opportunity to test their skills on national television channels.

In addition, a professional radio studio operates on the UJMCU campus in partnership with Deutsche Welle Akademie, providing students with practical training in radio broadcasting, audio editing, and related fields.

Under the cooperation agreement with the University of Gdańsk, students have the opportunity to take part in the summer educational program of the Polish school “Horizon Gdansk: Legal Minds & Leaders,” where they will learn the basics of leadership and negotiation, visit cultural landmarks of Poland, and gain deeper insight into its culture.
