Fergana State Technical University

The faculty started its activity in 1967 as the Faculty of Mechanics and Power Engineering at the Fergana Polytechnic Institute, which was established on the basis of the Fergana General Engineering Faculty of the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute. In the same year, for the first time, students were admitted to the full-time department of the Faculty of Mechanics and Power Engineering, majoring in "Mechanical engineering technology, metal cutting machines".

Since 1968, students have been admitted to the full-time department for the specialties "Mechanical equipment of construction material production enterprises" and "Polygraphy production technology". In 1967-1969, the faculty was located at house 71, Ulugbek street, Kirguli district, Fergana city. As the first dean of the Faculty of Mechanics and Power Engineering, Ph.D. Assoc. Tursunov Kabiljon Tursunovich worked. In September 1969, an independent Faculty of Mechanics was established, and a Ph.D. Okhunboboev O.O. was appointed dean. The educational building of the faculty has moved to house 6, Fergana street, Kirguli district.

      In the early years, training laboratories were carried out at the Fergana Oil Refinery, Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant, Kuvasoy Cement Combine, Fergana Mechanics Plant, Fergana Gas Appliances Plant and other enterprises.

     In 1977, the Faculty of Mechanics, along with other faculties, moved to the 2nd building at 86 Fergana Street, which has modern and comfortable classrooms, offices, and laboratories built on the basis of a new project. In 1976-1980, when associate professor R.B. Burkhanov worked as a dean, important works were carried out, such as improving the quality of educational processes, equipping and improving the auditoriums of the new educational building, and opening new specialties.

       In 1979, the Faculty of Technology was established on the basis of the Faculty of Mechanics, which included the departments "Light Industrial Machines and Apparatus" (head of the department, Ph.D. Associate Professor P.R. Fayziyev) and "Technology of Sewing Products" (head of the department, Associate Professor J.I. Qalandarov). R. Q. Kadirov was appointed as the dean of this faculty. In 1981, the Faculty of Technology was merged into the Faculty of Mechanics. Today, the educational and scientific laboratory base of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering has been enriched with equipment and machines that meet the requirements of the time, the scope of using technical tools and computer equipment in the educational process has expanded, and the teaching staff has been enriched with new academic level specialists.

Currently, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Nazarmatov Okhunjon Sotvoldiyevich of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering is the dean of the faculty, the deputy deans for academic affairs are Bakhodirov Nomonkhan Kamolkhanovich, Tojiboyev Farkhad Obidjonovich, Mamurov Eldor Tursunovich, O' Khosilov Misliddin Sharipovich, son of lmasov Ahadjon Akramjon, deputy dean for working with youth, is working. In addition, a trade union committee and a women's advisory board of the faculty were established in the faculty.

In accordance with the curricula developed on the basis of the improved State educational standards of educational areas and specialties, students of the faculty are given a set of knowledge in more than 80 subjects. 107 professors-teachers are teaching the students of the faculty. Training sessions are organized using advanced, modern pedagogical technologies, innovative methods, information and communication achievements and effective technical tools.

Tashkent State Technical University named after I. Karimov, Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology, Tashkent Highway Institute, Belgorod University of Technology, St. Petersburg State Institute of Technology, N.E. Bauman Moscow State Technical University, National Technical University of Ukraine "Kiev Polytechnic Institute" and scientists of the Moscow Institute of Highways and "Gunadarma" University of Indonesia are cooperating in terms of improving educational and methodological support of the faculty's educational process. For example: cooperation relations of the departments of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering with leading foreign institutions are expanding. Professors B.N. Korganbayev and A.A. Volnenko of South Kazakhstan State University named after M. O. Auezov, which is ranked 487th in the list of 1000 prestigious higher education institutions of the world in November of this year, in "Technological machines and equipment" Lectures and practical trainings were held for students of science, as well as master classes for young professors and masters.

In recent years, more than 10 textbooks and training manuals created by the professors and teachers of the faculty are widely used in the institute and vocational colleges. Training of personnel in the specialties “Technology of Oils and Fats” has also begun.

In 1994, specialists were trained in the areas of “Chemical technology and biotechnology” and “Food technology” in 2001. The faculty has organized and is implementing a number of works on organizing and formalizing existing educational and regulatory documents, introducing new pedagogical technologies and information and communication tools into the educational process. Considering the importance of cooperation between parents and educational institutions in the upbringing of the younger generation, communication is established with parents, and constant explanatory work is carried out to improve student attendance and performance.

In 1969, the Faculty of Construction and Geology was separated from the Faculty of General Engineering, and training of personnel in "Industrial and Civil Construction" and "Oil and Gas Well Drilling" specialties was started at the faculty.

H.A. Ahmedov, candidate of geology and mineralogy, associate professor, was appointed to the position of dean of the newly opened Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geology. Habibullo Akhmedovich left a significant mark in the history of the faculty with his many years of effective work. During the leadership period, H.A. Ahmedov, who had high organizational skills and human qualities, won the love of his colleagues and students.

Initially, the "Organic Chemistry" and "Foreign Languages and Russian" departments operated within the faculty. By 1969, the "Geology and Construction Sciences" department was separated from the "General Engineering and Geological Sciences" department. In 1979, the "Soil Mechanics, Ground and Foundation" department was established on the basis of the "Construction Mechanics" department.

In 1972, among the first graduates of the institute, the most talented ones were selected and hired as teachers in departments. M.Samikhonov, F.Badriddinov, A.A.Ahmedov, S.Tursunov, O.Hamroliyev, B.Kahhorov, A.T.Mirzaahmedov, E.K.Umurzakov, M.P.Ignatova, G.E.Oyzerskaya, R.I.Okhunboyev and others were among the young people who graduated from the Faculty of Construction and were hired at the institute. Among them, associate professors A. Mirzaahmedov and R. Okhunboyev are still working at the institute today.

By 1972, the departments of "Architecture and construction sciences", "Russian language", as well as "Building organization", "Building constructions" and "Building mechanics" were opened in the faculty.

In 1973, the "Architecture and Construction Sciences" department was divided into two, and the "Architecture" and "Civil and Industrial Construction" departments were established.

In 1975-1976, associate professor A. Abduganiyev worked as the dean of the faculty.

In 1976-1987 and 1995-1998, associate professor R.D. Teshaboyev worked as the dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. During this period, the faculty was one of the largest teams in the institute. In the years under the leadership of R. Teshaboyev, serious attention was paid to the work of organizing "Student construction squads". During the summer vacation, students took part in major constructions in Ivanovo, Tyumen, Tolyatti, Kemerovo and several regions and cities of the Republic of Uzbekistan. These detachments, in particular, took an active part in the construction of the institute's buildings and received public acclaim. These experienced teams were recruited to work in the construction of industrial enterprises in the city during the cotton harvest season.

In 1987, docent M.H. Zokirov was elected to the post of faculty dean on the basis of democratic elections and worked until 1991. In these years, new specializations "Construction organization and economy", "Urban planning and communal economy" were opened at the faculty.

SPIRITUAL AND EDUCATIONAL WORKS IMPLEMENTED AT THE FACULTY

      Events are regularly held at the faculty based on the spiritual and educational work plan. Faculty students and professors actively participate in "Spiritual Day" events held at the institute level. Faculty students actively participate in national and international sports competitions.

In 1973 Faculty of Management in Production was separated from the faculty of "Technology of the population service" in September. The faculty consists of the following departments: "Higher Mathematics", "Economic Theory", "Foreign Languages", "Manufacturing, Economy of industry and organizing", in 1976" Accounting and Business Analysis ", in 1977 -" Economy and Organization of Household Services ", and in 1994 -" Finance and Statistics " departments were organized.

In 1973-1976 the candidate of chemical sciences, docent M.X. Kholmatov was the dean of the faculty. These years were the years of faculty reorganization, its material and technical base was formed, the qualified specialists of manufacturing enterprises and graduates of higher educational institutions were invited to work. The relationships with large enterprises were established, and students were trained to meet their needs.

N.Toshmamatov, N. Shabanov, R.Altinboeva, A.Kasimov, J.Mamajonov, Q.Boykuziev, A.Abdurazzaqov and others took an active part in the educational process, equipping and training.

In 1976-1984 years. Gulmira Hamidova worked as The Dean of the faculty. During her presidency, teaching and methodical and research work developed in the faculty. Young teachers were sent to post-graduate studies at the central higher education institutions of the country. Personell with scientific degrees such as N.T.Toshmamatov, R.Y.Temirbulatov, O. Pardaeva, A.Soliev, M.A.Ikromov and Tsoy were trained for the departments of the faculty.

1984-1986 years docent Q.R. Ergashev, from 1986 to 1987 docent Z.M.Tojiboyev, from 1988 to 1989 professor Y.J.Jalolov, in 1989-1991years, docent E.Mo'ydinov in 1989-1991 years docent N.Tashmamatov worked as the dean of the faculty.

In 1993-2000  the faculty was headed by M. Ikramov. In 2000-2001 the faculty was headed by docent A.L.Gofurov. In 2001-2004 I.T.Yormatov worked, in 2005 I.S.Imanov and in 2005-2008 A.M.Abdullaev   worked as the dean of the faculty. From 2008 to 2021 headed the head of the department is Condidate of Economical sciences, docent I.Yormatov. Since 2021 the head of the department is Doctor of  Philosiphy in Economics PhD I.Jahongirov.

At the faculty the practical work on the formation and implementation of graduate qualification works on the basis of enterprises' orders is being carried out with the purpose of application of new pedagogical technologies, introduction of new methods of control of knowledge and control of knowledge of bachelors, organization of uninterrupted connection etween practice and education.

The faculty has a system of work with gifted students. In particular, in the 2003-2004 academic year, a student of "Finance" N. Tursunbaeva received a Presidential Scholarship, in the 2015-2016 academic year, a student of "Vocational Education (Economics)" S. .Abdullaeva's "Navoi" scholarship, in the 2016-2017 academic year, a student of "Vocational Education (Economics)" A.Abdukadirov's "Navoi" scholarship, in the 2017-2018 academic year in "Management" S. Kadyrov, a student of "Islam Karimov" scholarship, Z.Umaraliyev, a student of "Vocational Education (Economics)" in 2018-2019 academic year, a recipient of a scholarship named after "Islam Karimov" , In the 2019-2020 academic year, a student of "Accounting and Auditing" S. N. Tursunbaeva has a master's degree in Scotland and teaches at the Tashkent branch of Westminster University. A number of our students have won national and regional competitions. In the 2020-2021 academic year, a student of "Economics" S. Ganijanova took the 3rd place in the Republican finals of the "UNIVERSIADA-2020" sports competitions in the "National Wrestling" category. A graduate of our faculty N. Tursunbayeva graduated from a master's degree in Scotland and now works at the Tashkent branch of Westminster University.

Particular attention was paid to the preparation of highly qualified personnel at the faculty. By now 1 doctorate and 4 candidate dissertations were defended. At present, 3 young talented teachers are preparing their dissertations for defense. Young professionals have been trained in the Republic of China and South Korea.

89 professors and lecturers  have been working in the departments of the faculty, 3 of them are doctors of sciences, professors, 17 candidates of sciences, docents, 8 PhD senior lecturers, 24 senior teachers and 36 assistants.

There are 807 students studying at the faculty, 126 of them are girls and 681 are boys. At the same time, textbooks and manuals are being published by leading scholars.

Over the past years more than 12 thousand specialists have graduated from the faculty, and many of them have been working in various branches of the economy.

In 1992, docent of the Department of Economics Murad Akramovich Ikramov defended his doctoral dissertation and from 1993 to 2000 headed the faculty. In his work, he paid particular attention to the research work under his leadership economy, and began to carry out scientific works on the basis of contracts, attached great importance to sending young people to post-graduate and doctoral studies. M.Ikromov headed the regional department of education on the basis of studying the needs, needs and offers of enterprises and organizations, and training of masters on the direction of "Management" in the faculty. Murod Akramovich worked as the rector of the Tashkent Automobile Institute in 2001, the rector of the Tashkent Aviation Institute in 2003, the Rector of the Tashkent Road Institute in 2008-2011, the Deputy State Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2011 and the Tashkent Road Institute in 2012-2013. Since 2013 is Professor of Tashkent University of Economics

Faculty of “Light Industry and Textiles” was established on the basis of the faculty of “Mechanics” in February 2020. The first dean of the faculty was R. Anorov who has worked effectively during 2020-2021.

Currently, Associate Professor I.A.Toshpulatov is working as a dean of the faculty of “Light Industry and Textiles”, Nishonov Islombek Abdumukhtar’son, Usmanov Nodirjon Botiraliyevich and Abdukhakhorov Ilkhomjon Abdukhamid’son work as a Deputy Deans of “Educational Affairs”, Dadaquziyev Muzaffar Rakhnomoyevich is working as a the deputy dean of “Working with youth”. The faculty building is located at house 15A on “Yangi Zaman” street, Kirguli district, Fergana city.

Today, the educational and scientific laboratory base of the Faculty of “Light Industry and Textiles” is being enriched with modern equipment and machines that responds requirements of the today’s modern life, the scope of using technical tools and computer equipment in the educational process is expanding, the scientific potential of the teaching staff is increasing due to the new academic level specialists.

Spiritual and educational work at the faculty is carried out on the basis of the approved plan, within the normative works of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation regulations. Qualified, experienced and potential tutors are assigned to all groups in the faculty.

In the faculty, under the guidance of group tutors, students organize visits to theaters, museums, veterans’s house, and various spiritual and educational events held in the city. During the academic year, “Information and coaching hours” are held by group tutors.

Another important indicator of the faculty's spiritual-educational and educational activity is establishing regular communication between students’ parents with the management of the institute, professors-teachers, from time to time live discussions of their meetings. It is effective in improving student education and increasing attendance. A “Suggestions and Comments” box aimed at clarifying and solving the problems of students of the Faculty of Social Environment in a timely manner has been established, and questionnaires are being received and analyzed.

According to the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-26 dated January 24, 2025, “On measures to further improve the activities of higher education institutions in Fergana region”, the Fergana State Technical University was established on the basis of the Fergana Polytechnic Institute and the Fergana branch of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies. Within this university, the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications has been created. The faculty employs 132 professors and teachers, and 5006 students study in full-time, part-time, and distance learning programs.
