About the programme

This academic program is aimed at developing deep theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the art of sound directing. During the course, students learn the theoretical foundations of working with sound in film, television, radio, and mass theater performances, genre characteristics, interaction with actors, creation of soundscapes, and technologies for recording and artistic processing of sound.

The curriculum includes practical lessons, masterclasses with mentors, and creative projects on real stage platforms, allowing students to develop essential technical and artistic qualities in sound directing.

Structure of the curriculum:

  • Theoretical and practical education — 105 weeks (semesters 1–7)

  • Professional internship — 15 weeks (semesters 2, 4, 6, 8)

  • Attestation periods — 14 weeks (semesters 1–7)

  • Final state certification — 4 weeks (semester 8)

  • Holidays — 54 weeks (semesters 1–8)

  • Total: 240 credits

Notes:

  • 1 credit = 30 academic hours

  • GPA is determined in the third week of August

  • “Sound Directing Skills” is taught in 7 modules

  • “Sound Recording Accessories” — 6 modules

  • “Musical Sound Effects” — 7 modules

  • Minor changes in load per subject block allowed (5–10%)

  • Classes may be held individually (1–4), in small groups (2–12), regular (13–25), or combined (up to 100)

  • Practice takes place in higher education institutions and base organizations

  • Final certification includes defense of the final project

  • “Physical Education and Sports” is offered optionally through sports clubs
