About the programme

The direction of Philology and Language Teaching (Languages) aims to acquire in-depth knowledge and skills in language and literature, as well as to create opportunities for communication and learning in other languages. This direction includes not only linguistics and literature, but also provides a wide range of knowledge in the study of effective language teaching methodologies, as well as the study of language and culture.
The main objectives of the direction:
• Fundamentals of Linguistics and Literature: Provides students with the opportunity to study the theoretical foundations of language and literature, language systems, its development and functions.
• Language Teaching Methods: Study effective language teaching methods, pedagogical methods and innovative methods in language teaching.
• International Linguistics: Students will become familiar with international linguistics, modern pedagogical systems and language teaching methodologies.
Main subjects:
1. Linguistics
Linguistics provides scientific knowledge about the nature, structure and development of language. Students study the differences, similarities and historical development of different languages.
2. Literary studies
Through this subject, students get acquainted with different genres of literature, writers and the works they created. Literary studies is important in the study of language and culture.
3. Language teaching methods
Knowledge is provided about effective methods, styles and pedagogical technologies of language teaching. Students learn to use innovative methods in the teaching process.
4. Linguistic culture
In language teaching, knowledge is provided about the culture of the language, its social and cultural context. Understanding cultural exchanges and differences in the language of communication is important.
5. Pronunciation and Phonetics
Pronouncing a language correctly and studying its phonetic features is an important skill for students. This subject focuses on the accuracy of pronunciation and speech in language learning.
