About the programme
Through this academic program, you will acquire comprehensive knowledge and professional competencies in the field of Native Language and Literature. The curriculum covers all major branches of the Uzbek language, including phonetics, lexicology, grammar, stylistics, and speech culture, as well as the history of Uzbek literature from classical to contemporary periods, literary theory, literary criticism, and modern methodologies for teaching native language and literature.
Today, the field of Native Language and Literature is of particular importance due to the growing demand for qualified language and literature teachers in general secondary schools and academic lyceums. It also plays a significant role in preserving national spiritual values, promoting linguistic and cultural heritage, and advancing the scholarly study and dissemination of literary works. As a result, specialists in this field are highly valued in educational, cultural, and research institutions.
During the four-year program, you will develop a wide range of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The curriculum is designed to provide students with contemporary and essential academic disciplines, enabling them to meet the professional requirements of modern education and related sectors. By studying with us, you will gain the expertise necessary to achieve your academic and career aspirations.
The program is structured over 8 semesters (4 years), during which students are required to complete a total of 240 credits, including:
- Total classroom instruction: 2,304 hours
- Professional teaching practicum: 630 hours
- Final qualification thesis (Bachelor’s graduation project): 420 hours
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will possess the linguistic, literary, pedagogical, and research competencies necessary to pursue careers in education, research, publishing, cultural institutions, media organizations, and other fields related to the study, teaching, and promotion of native language and literature.
