Library information activities

This academic program is aimed at developing students’ professional knowledge, skills, and competencies required for effective work in the field of library and information services. Students are trained in working with information resources, organizing bibliographic processes, mastering modern forms and methods of user services, bibliographic description, systematization, classification, working with documents, managing information and reference databases, and organizing electronic library services.

The program also emphasizes the development of skills in managing library and information institutions, planning and evaluating information services, forming and analyzing information resources, delivering them to users, as well as conducting bibliographic searches and working with digital data using information technologies.

• Total Classroom Hours: 3015 hours

• Internship Hours: 450 hours

• 1 credit equals 30 academic hours

• GPA is calculated in the third week of August

• Up to 5% of the credit block and 10% of individual course content may be modified while maintaining weekly workload

• Thesis defense is part of the final state certification

• Practical and lab work is held in universities and cooperating institutions

• Internships are conducted in base institutions to integrate theory with practice
