Jurisprudence

Jurisprudence (Islamic Law) (60420100) is an undergraduate academic program aimed at preparing competitive, highly qualified legal professionals for the legal sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Graduates are equipped with modern theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The educational process is organized in a full-time format based on the credit-module system, with a standard duration of four years.

Graduates of this program may pursue careers in the legislative and executive branches of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, local self-government bodies, justice institutions, law firms and legal bureaus, public associations, enterprises, organizations, and institutions providing legal services. They may also serve in specialized units responsible for combating religious extremism and terrorism within the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, and the State Customs Committee.

In addition, graduates may engage in teaching activities at educational institutions and conduct research at scientific research organizations. They may also work at the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Center for the Development of Civil Society, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as Uzbek embassies, consulates, and other diplomatic missions abroad. Their responsibilities may include analyzing issues related to Islam and Islamic law, preparing analytical reports and conclusions, and developing proposals and recommendations concerning legal relations governed by Islamic law.

The professional fields of activity for graduates include:

• Employment within the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, other ministries, state committees, governmental and non-governmental organizations, local government authorities, and international organizations;
• Performing legal duties in district, city, and regional administrations (hokimiyats) and other public institutions where legal professionals are required;
• Serving as legal advisers (legal consultants) in law enforcement agencies, public authorities, the advocacy and notarial systems, as well as enterprises, institutions, and organizations;
• Drafting laws, subordinate normative legal acts, and other legal documents, as well as carrying out other professional legal activities;
• Working in non-governmental and non-profit organizations involved in national and international affairs, law enforcement agencies, local self-government bodies, and regional centers for spirituality and enlightenment;
• Working as junior researchers or scientific and technical staff members in research institutions, organizations, and higher education institutions;
• Teaching Foundations of State and Law and Education (Tarbiya) in general secondary, specialized secondary, and vocational education institutions, in accordance with established regulations.
