History (by direction and type of activity)

The Master's Programme in History (by fields and types of activity) belongs to the field of Humanities and is aimed at training highly qualified specialists capable of teaching history-related disciplines in higher education institutions, professional training institutions, and advanced training systems, as well as conducting research activities in scientific research institutes, centres, and scientific organizations of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The programme also prepares specialists for professional activities in state and non-governmental organizations, archives, museums, and institutions related to the preservation and study of cultural heritage. It develops competencies in the scientific analysis of historical processes, the study and interpretation of historical sources, and the development and implementation of management decisions.

Curriculum and Course Content

During the programme, master's students acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in the history of Uzbekistan and world history, research methodology, source studies, historiography, archival studies, cultural heritage studies, historical geography, civilizations history, socio-political process analysis, and modern scientific research methods. Students also develop skills in analyzing historical data, conducting research, and working with historical sources in a systematic way.

Learning Outcomes

Graduates will be able to carry out teaching and research activities, analyse historical and socio-political processes, work in archives, museums, and cultural heritage institutions, collect and interpret historical sources, evaluate the socio-cultural impact of historical processes, process historical and statistical data, and develop scientifically grounded recommendations for cultural heritage preservation and historical studies.
