About the programme

The “Architectural Environment Design” Department was established in 2002. The department trains specialists in the following fields:

60210400 – Design (Interior Design)

60210400 – Design (Industrial Design)

70210401 – Design (Interior Design)

70210401 – Design (Landscape Design)

70210401 – Design (Architectural Environment Design)

After its establishment, the department was headed by Associate Professor B.A. Baymukhamedov until 2004, then by Associate Professor M.R. Borodina from 2004 to 2015, followed by Arch. PhD, Associate Professor A.V. Vetlugina, and Associate Professor Z.E. Matniyazov. Currently, the department is headed by Associate Professor S.S. Elmurodov.

Today, the department includes 1 academician, 3 professors, 10 associate professors, 3 senior lecturers, and 3 assistants. Faculty members actively implement modern teaching methods, integrate IT technologies, and participate in scientific and educational activities.

The department is considered one of the leading institutions in Uzbekistan for providing universities and vocational colleges with up-to-date textbooks in the subjects of “Design Basics,” “Design Principles,” “Architectural Graphics,” “Landscape Design,” “Interior Design,” “Artistic Design,” “Decorative Gardening,” “Ergonomics,” “Computer-Aided Design,” “Modeling and Prototyping,” and “Presentation Design.”

Faculty have prepared 3 Presidential scholarship holders and more than 10 winners of Olympiads and various international and national competitions.

Classes are successfully conducted using new pedagogical technologies. The department is engaged in theoretical and practical research in architectural environment design and collaborates with higher education institutions and production companies. The results are published in prestigious domestic and international journals.
