About the programme
History (Bachelor's Programme)
The bachelor's program in History offers students the opportunity to study the history of humankind, the development of society, and historical processes in depth and on a sound scientific basis. The program is designed to train broad-minded specialists who are able to analyze historical events and to work independently with primary sources.
The principal aim of this field of study is to train qualified professionals who understand the connection between the past and the present, who can assess historical facts objectively, and who can apply historical knowledge for the benefit of society. Students acquire skills in analytical thinking, source studies, and scholarly research.
Throughout the program, students study the history of Uzbekistan, world history, and the history of the ancient, medieval, and modern periods. The curriculum also covers source studies, archaeology, ethnography, historiography, historical geography, and methods of working with historical documents. The methodology of historical research and the skills of preparing scholarly articles also occupy a prominent place in the program.
