Green Economy
BSc (Hons) Environment and Economics aims to provide students with the basic tools of economic analysis and an understanding of the principles of resource production, conservation and use in both ecological and economic terms.
Acquire:
- Strong foundation in both environmental sciences and economic theory, models, and tools.
- Analytical skills to study environmental issues and policies from an economic lens.
- Methods for valuing ecosystem services, assessing environmental costs and benefits, and designing market-based instruments.
- Understanding of how to integrate environmental considerations into economic systems and account for ecological impacts.
- Systems thinking skills to analyze sustainability challenges that intersect environmental, economic, and social dimensions.
- Expertise in using economic insights and models to inform evidence-based environmental policy and management.
